http://tomssharpen.blogspot.com/2011/10/so-my-new-exhibit-is-here-about-three.html
Thursday, October 20, 2011. So my new exhibit is here. About three a day, moved from miami, through san francisco, and now hitting madrid, seoul, etc. these are other people's photos made into posters, sometimes vague and abstract (see wells fargo) and none labeled. they are labeled internally as ows15, ows11, etc. What do I have to say for myself? The color, the moment, the contrast, that's what i want. and who is this black and white clown who keeps reappearing? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

sharpen!: January 2012

Saturday, January 28, 2012. So google announces that it's going to shut down picnik; but, i didn't even realize google owned picnik. i have, however, started a picnik retrospective. Or at least, a picnik celebration. if we still have it until april, then the least we can do is enjoy it quick, like a good set of oil paints that you know will go bad the minute you walk away. from now until april, that isn't really such a long time. so, we'd better get started. sharpen!: December 2012
http://tomssharpen.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 3, 2012. Got my pop back. On Fotopic, though that's not saying much because I'm not incredibly organized. It's a psychological thing, though; losing that thread of organization almost cost me the whole collection. The galleries, as they have stood for about a year and a half, empty (I'm telling you, I was devastated; I didn't even remove them)- will slowly be restored. At the moment they start here. And are mostly empty. But keep checking: I intend to display it, step by step.

Wednesday, December 10, 2008. The incredible lightness of being. Yes let me set the record straight. I'm an artist on a number of fronts.one being computer, graphic image distortion, a kind of pop-art, poster art; I don't do vector art (yet) and have moved beyond xerox art which was an old passion. I also write and play music but you can read about that on other blogs. I might. But so far I've been taken with the opportunity to be part of the media in my free time. I'm a content producer. Shapes, images,...

sharpen!: September 2008

Thursday, September 18, 2008. The Marilyns have been called perhaps the most recognizable of all 20th century art, clearly famous. So, the first thing I'm curious about is this: Why did it strike such a nerve in American consciousness, just at that moment when it came out? Her image is simply that, a symbol, reflecting in the sun, and catching our eye; her beauty is a kind of brand, that makes us want to grab it because it is a symbol of something we like. Kind of like the Campbell's soup can.

Saturday, September 29, 2012. My latest exhibit, Lubbock in the rearview mirror. And places where I can shoot with less pressure. I may or may not get better at this with time, but there's another possibility: I'll just stop being so obsessed with "where I've been" and focus more on not framing. Monday, September 3, 2012. So I post to this blog every six months or so, but that's how long it takes before I actually feel. Of them, but there are a few more on my lubbock site. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

sharpen!: May 2011
http://tomssharpen.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
Tuesday, May 17, 2011. What happened to it? Nobody really knows. It was an important photo-holding service, used by big collectors, UK-based, but it was taken over by somebody who didn't care, and let it sit there for a while, and then apparently didn't even notice when unpaid bills probably forced all serving space to become unavailable.what's up with that? As we wear it, and fade into the world of washing machines, rather than into the virtual space of web archive. More about that later.
