A. Painters Notes

My place for sharing thoughts about painting, my creative process and other things that interest me along the way. Sunday, July 25, 2010. Gerald's Tree, Ghost Ranch. Part of me wants my art to be more personal, more "important" in some way, but I wondered yesterday, what that is really about? Is this simply another form of procrastination? Finally after hours of looking yesterday, I decided to stop worrying about this and just DO something, anything, to refocus on working after this lengthy lapse. When w...

A. Painters Notes: April 2006

http://apaintersnotes.blogspot.com/2006_04_01_archive.html

My place for sharing thoughts about painting, my creative process and other things that interest me along the way. Thursday, April 13, 2006. Putting on my Apron. Anyway, after the watercolors dried, I took a black pen to the painting and managed to save a little face but I never liked the painting. So.I ripped it into about 12 pieces and realized after that the shapes and colors on the torn pieces were interesting and might make good starting points for a series of new paintings. Ann Painter: September 2009

Thirty Small Paintings Ghost Ranch. Wednesday, September 23, 2009. Hills Behind the House, Ghost Ranch 2. 6 x 6 inches, oil on board, © 2009 Ann Painter. During my visit, I managed to shoot a picture of the red hills behind the house she lived in with her beloved Pedernal Mountain behind. I had looked for the place she painted red hills with the mountain behind for a long time. It wasn't until I stood on her patio that I realized how close to home her vantage point was. a painter's journey

A life of creativity and simplicity. connection with the earth, harmony with others, and joy in every moment. Saturday, August 23, 2008. It recently occurred to me that my blog name is 'A. Journey' and yet I have never posted images of my paintings. I just finished organizing the photos that I have saved on my computer, so in celebration I thought I would post a few pictures of some of the paintings I have done. Here is a series I did of some inspiring people:. Friday, August 15, 2008. The fresh fruit an...

Journey's of An Artist Mom

Journey's of An Artist Mom. When I arrived and they hooked me up to monitor the contractions, the nurse commented that the contractions were registering as VERY strong. Okay good, this wasn't just me being a wimp. She checked me and I was 5 cm's dilated. "YESSS! I'm totally bearing down! I can't stop it! You are 9 cm's already! We need to get you in a room to deliver this baby! And with that it was suddenly a flurry of nurses wheeling me down the hall to a delivery room and setting things up, calling my ...

A Painters Palette - Home

You are most likely in some stage of making changes to your home. This is a big deal, and we recognize that. We want to make this a good experience for you, and leave you feeling like it was the best decision you ever made. Even as a painter it never ceases to amaze me how color can tranform a room. Or, how an accent wall with a bold color, faux finish, or mural can bring such drama and presence to a space. What an exciting step to take, and we look forward to being your painter of choice.

Gabrielle Carey | the life and business of being an artist

The life and business of being an artist. The trouble with the word “Art”. February 28, 2014. But I am still ambivalent about the title when it comes to painting. My dilemma has always been that, if I paint what customers ask me to paint, albeit in my own way, but with their preferences as my parameters, then is what I do really. I mean, the word. I am in no way comparing myself to Michelangelo, but he is considered one of the greatest Artists of all time, and yet he painted what others wanted him to pai...
