The three main qualifications for individuals residing in employee housing are:. Work a minimum of 1,500 hours per year in Pitkin County. Not own other property in the Roaring Fork Valley. Maintain their employee home as their sole residence - they must stay in their home at least 9 months per year. Over the last 30 years, approximately 2,600 employee-housing units have been developed in Pitkin County and have provided homes for many employees. The community has set goals to create more employee housing in the Aspen Area. Homes will provide a critical mass of residents needed to sustain our community.
