Where the White Things Are: Light and Truth
http://jeffandshaina.blogspot.com/2015/05/light-and-truth.html
Monday, May 18, 2015. I gave a talk in church yesterday. It was terrifying, as usual. It had been two years since my last talk in our ward, so I felt quite rusty in the talk-writing realm. I used to feel guilty about writing my talks out word for word, because people always say you’re supposed to teach by the spirit and all that. BUT, then I realized a few things:. General Conference talks are all written out word for word beforehand and read word for word during conference. Tadaa! The other unforseen tr...

Where the White Things Are: 9 months
http://jeffandshaina.blogspot.com/2015/08/9-months.html
Friday, August 7, 2015. Our sweet Ambaby is 9 months old. She's been out as long as she was in! She went from an all-milk diet to feeding herself breakfast, lunch, and dinner. That's pretty impressive. Another month, another PHOTO SHOOT! While I was sitting on the floor taking pictures of Amber, she kept coming towards me and I kept moving away so I could keep taking pictures. She didn't like it. On the front porch. Three times a day, every day. Sigh. Messy messy. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Where the White Things Are: Anything for Indian food
http://jeffandshaina.blogspot.com/2015/08/anything-for-indian-food.html
Saturday, August 1, 2015. Anything for Indian food. This week we decided to go on a family adventure to Oregon. We picked out a waterfall and a food cart to visit there, packed some snacks and diapers, got into the van, and headed west on Thursday morning. They were crammed all along both sides of that skinny road, snug against the steep rock on one side of the road and perched precariously on the edge of the drop off on the other. The place was crawling with people! Before we left Dairy Queen for the 3 ...

Where the White Things Are: November 2014
http://jeffandshaina.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 30, 2014. Alas, the closest I got to it was a fuzzy picture of everyone but Amber and me at the table. Better luck next year. Here are a few pictures from the week:. First bath at home. Bows: sometimes they work, sometimes they don’t. Jay loves holding Amber. It works best if she’s really really asleep when I hand her over to him. Bare baby body—favorite. Sunday, November 23, 2014. Primitive vs. Patient. And Amber and I went to the book club on Thursday night! To say "Jay and Rose! You'r...

Where the White Things Are: September 2014
http://jeffandshaina.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Sunday, September 28, 2014. The Big Rock was popular. The only problem with this area was in the parking lot behind it, the race folks had set up a hot dog stand of all things (at 9am) and it was wafting minced-meaty scents on us while we played at The Big Rock. Thankfully there were other attractions at the preserve too. Jeff: 4th from the left, just rarin’ to run. And they’re off! They ran around for a while in the bushes saying “we’re in a forest! We’re in a forest! It was very peaceful in the shade b...

Where the White Things Are: December 2014
http://jeffandshaina.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, December 31, 2014. Last post of the year. Because I’m trying to stay awake to kiss my husband at midnight…. 8230;here’s one last thought about 2014:. I had two goals for 2014: get pregnant and have a baby. 2015 is going to be SO much more fun than 2014 was. I hope it’s full of this:. And plenty of this:. Not too much of this:. We’re ready for you. The question is, are YOU ready for US? Sunday, December 28, 2014. So for now, I compensate for my muddled words with PICTURES, PICTURES, PICTURES!

Where the White Things Are: October 2014
http://jeffandshaina.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, October 30, 2014. Pumpkins and a visit. Yesterday was a great day. My Mom drove the 3 hours to visit us for the day and we loved it. While Jay was at school, Rose soaked up the one-on-one Grama attention with piles of books. I soaked up some food that she brought, along with good conversation. She made us dinner. We love Grama Meri! In other news…it’s pumpkin time! Pumpkin. When he found a nice large one, I jokingly said “how are you going to carry that to the van? In keeping with boring wimpy ...

Where the White Things Are: July 2014
http://jeffandshaina.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 29, 2014. I use Facebook. I have no desire for any more social media. Then a month ago, it was time to decide whether or not to renew my poor dying dumbphone (as in opposite of smartphone) plan. Cue side note interlude (be patient, it’ll all come together in the end):. My old call-and-text-only cell phone was starting to do strange things like: default to the most annoying ring tone ever. The call connection was horrible. And the battery life? 8221; There’s not much to it! When Rose is tire...

Where the White Things Are: January 2015
http://jeffandshaina.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 27, 2015. 8221; I thought, “off to the doctor we go.” So we went to see the new guy (since Dr. Weaver isn’t up and running yet). So much for never going to the Grandview Medical Center again! My cuties between bouts of sickness, when Jay seemed to be getting better and before Rose went down. Thursday afternoon, Jay got a fever. Friday I started feeling a telltale tickle in the back of my throat and sure enough, on Saturday I had clogged sinuses. I made a veritable. Bonus: we got to wear ...
