The Travels of Kim and Tony. Tuesday, 11 October 2011. Last day in New York (and the holiday). It's been a fantastic 5 weeks or so and we've enjoyed every minute but like all good things it has to come to an end. As promised, today was the shopping day, Macy's took a hammering and the zips on the suitcases are screaming for mercy! Outside the front of the Empire State Building. The Travels of Kim and Tony. Monday, 10 October 2011. Today as promised was extremely hot, well into the 80's. We had a stroll out up to Central Park and on our way we had a look at the Columbus Day Parade which stretched the length of 5th Avenue. There were representatives from Guatemala, Columbia, and Ecuador to name a few. There were bands, cheer leaders and dancers in national costume. The Travels of Kim and Tony. Sunday, 2 October 2011. Gastown was quite busy, the usual group of tourists, (like us), waiting for the Steam Clock to sound it's rendition of the Westminster bells on the hour. Souvenir shopping complete, time to eat and we paid a second visit to the Milestone Grill and Bar in Robson Street. The Travels of Kim and Tony. Tuesday, 3 November 2009. New York Days 7 and 8. Saturday, a quiet day moving from the Grand Hyatt to the Trump Tower. We didn't check in until about 3.40pm after which once we unpacked, not everything because it's nearly time to go home. Later that day we walked into Central Park where Kim demonstrated her athletic prowess. The camera does not lie, this is her passing the 26 mile mark of the marathon. Now look, she has sprinted up the final hill and crossed the finish line!

The Travels of Kim and Tony. Monday, 3 October 2011. Last Day in Vancouver. There were lots of photo opportunities, including a great view across the harbour to Canada Place. Also, views as you go under Lions Gate bridge which leads to North Vancouver is well worth the effort. The bridge is a suspension type and in 2005 was designated a National Historic Site of Canada. The Travels of Kim and Tony. Thursday, 29 September 2011. A quick run down of the bridge, including heart in the mouth video! Watch the video last, you will have all the facts in the blog at your fingertips, (makes it more interesting, well sort of). Kim traversing the canyon, watch out for the wobbly bridge! Start of the crossing. The current bridge is 70 metres high and 137 metres long, being able to take the weight of 96 elephants, another useless fact I shall now store for use in casual conversation!

It freshens things up and will obviously make the posts more interesting and informative in the future! There is now the facility to search the whole blog so we can remind ourselves of past exploits and find previous posts quickly. Today was another glorious day and whilst we were at Capilano Suspension Bridge yesterday we saw details about Grouse Mountain. So this morning we set off on the free shuttle for the 40 minute ride to the base of this beautiful area of North Vancouver.
