Out of the Margins. A view from street level, by members of Seattle's homeless and low-income writer's coalition, StreetWrites. Friday, February 01, 2008. Quantum States of Mary. Poems I wrote while I was homeless, with autobiographical notes. I had more images now that I wanted to add, and a motivation to get it done for the Christmas issue. When I had it completed, it was a two-page poem - I submitted it anyway. Quantum States of Mary. Holding your baby;. Did you see a shadow fall. On the stable wall?

Out of the Margins. A view from street level, by members of Seattle's homeless and low-income writer's coalition, StreetWrites. Monday, January 28, 2008. In Honor of Boyd McLaughlin: November 3, 1995. In November of 1995, we had a tragedy at the StreetLife art gallery. As a kid I had sports heroes and rock stars up on the walls of my room. As an adult, the posters turned political. But the ones I make myself seem to be crammed with philosophy. From The Ancient Greeks (Heraclitus: You can't step in the same shit twice) thru the Enlightenment (Rousseau: Man is free to shit but is everywhere constipated), to the present day (Derrida: Deconstruct the privileging of shit over crap), here is the entire canon of Western philosophy through a scatological lens.
