What on earth are they up to now? Thursday, 24 March 2011. Grandie and Poppie visit - II. So my last post said that I'd update once I had some photos from Poppie - and I've taken so long to get around to it that I can now do that post! Looking through someone else's eyes (i.e., their photos) really gives you an idea of how far you've acclimatised - so many things I thought were strange at the start of my stay in China, now barely register as odd. Storytime during that week was more exciting than usual.

Alex had two "beautiful gowns" bought on a recent shopping spree with Grandie - and who would deny Sebastien a turn at "spinning 'round" in a dress that floats? Alex had new princess rain boots that she could wear in the house as she hadn't yet worn them outside - Sebastien was itching to get his Thomas the Tank engine boots. What on earth are they up to now? Monday, 28 June 2010. Oh how fast has time flown! It seems like only yesterday that Brett and I were discussing the possibility of leaving Alex with "someone" to babysit while we went to see the World Cup in South Africa. And here's the reality:. What on earth are they up to now? Tuesday, 22 March 2011. Wow, it's been so long since I've been here - too long really. Looking back at where I got up to with my posts I see it's been half a year. Well, another concerted effort is about to begin. I have my photos in order, I've reworked my day-to-day schedule and am back on track, I think. What on earth are they up to now? Sunday, 1 November 2009. But it isn't really a “golden week” holiday. We had to take photos of Alex near different buildings. We photographed her near old houses,. What on earth are they up to now? Friday, 5 March 2010. This year we didn't take the kids with us to the Foreign Staff Bo Bing Night. We had a pleasant enough dinner - here is a photo of what the tables looked like before they changed for Bo Bing. This seems to be the event where you get your household supplies for the year - or at least, we seem to. What on earth are they up to now? Friday, 30 October 2009. Happy Birthday to our little boy! Now a true toddler he's more running than falling over - except now when he does fall over it's with more force and therefore there's more blood (or a bigger bruise). Then, he enjoyed pancakes for second breakfast (well, the chocolate chips anyway - Alex enjoyed the rest). Alex deigned to read him a Thomas the Tankengine story before leaving for school. Pretty soon it was just Sebastien and Mummy playing at home.
