A Mrs Maker: Anna inspired costume
http://amrsmaker.blogspot.com/2015/06/anna-inspired-costume.html
Gallery of Makes pre blog. Saturday, June 13, 2015. The Frozen frenzy died down a while ago for my girls (isn't it about time Frozen 2 came out? But I think it is still very much alive amongst the younger ones. If our recent trip to Disneyland and the number of kids in Elsa costumes is anything to go by. The sewing element is very simple and the techniques could be applied for any number of princesses, if you are that way inclined. The great thing about making dress up costumes is you don't need to be to...

A Mrs Maker: January 2014
http://amrsmaker.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Gallery of Makes pre blog. Friday, January 31, 2014. Master bedroom make over. The fourth and final bedroom is now decorated, yay! Of course it is a shade of grey, but I would like to say the inspiration for my colour scheme came from various sources not just the book of grey. My husband bought these little glasses for me from a yard sale over the road from us. He knows me well, I love the sugary colours of them. The swallows duvet cover set was a gift from my parents from Heals. As I mentioned in Part 1.

Gallery of Makes pre blog. Tuesday, September 17, 2013. Friday Night pizza - starch, carbs and gluten free. For many of us Friday night is take out night. The equivalent in our house is pizza (Trader Joe's frozen) and salad. A quick easy meal that requires no effort. So roll around to Friday, Alice on no starch diet, agghhh NO PIZZA! I sat and watched a delighted husband get the whole pizza to himself as I chomped my way through salad again. Imagine my delight when I found out I can. Mozzarella - 2 balls.

A Mrs Maker: September 2014
http://amrsmaker.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Gallery of Makes pre blog. Wednesday, September 24, 2014. It is officially Fall. Bulbous pumpkins are taking over the fresh produce at the supermarkets and stores are in full on Halloween mode. It all seems slightly irrelevant as its 37oC outside, we are still swimming in the pool and slurping ice pops! However not one to miss a baking opportunity Connie and I decided to make these Spiced apple bars which have a definite autumnal ring to them. The recipe is slightly adapted from her cookbook ". Bake in t...

A Mrs Maker: October 2013
http://amrsmaker.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Gallery of Makes pre blog. Tuesday, October 15, 2013. There are a lot of similarities with my no starch diet and a Paleo. Diet The bonus being there are zillions of great Paleo blogs posting delicious recipes. However a major difference is I am a happy eater of dairy and sugar; gotta have it! I stumbled upon another relevant diet, the Specific Carbohydrate Diet. This diet is specifically starch, sugar, grain and complex carbohydrate free. Perfect for me! I have bought this fantastic cookbook. Preheat the...

A Mrs Maker: Craigslist Credenza
http://amrsmaker.blogspot.com/2014/04/craigslist-credenza.html
Gallery of Makes pre blog. Thursday, April 3, 2014. I'm a fitful Craigslist user. Some weeks I am scouring everyday in the hope of hitting the jackpot (you know when you find that. Item) other weeks I can take it or leave it. Thus allowing myself the illusion I'm not a compulsive bargain hunter. This particular purchase was found on a random flick through day. Everyone needs a credenza, right? Here is the original image from Craigslist. To cover the laminate top I ordered PSA walnut veneer. The next stag...

A Mrs Maker: December 2013
http://amrsmaker.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Gallery of Makes pre blog. Thursday, December 12, 2013. The American ways are slowly creeping into my being. One of which is to decorate every surface in every room at 'holiday' time. I love Christmas and am so excited we will be in our own home this year; so its not been hard to embrace this tradition. Hello to my forest of wooden Christmas trees! I started with a strip of balsa wood (3/32"x 4"x 36") which you can get from craft stores for a couple of bucks. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). A Pip and a Peach.

A Mrs Maker: August 2014
http://amrsmaker.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Gallery of Makes pre blog. Friday, August 22, 2014. Leather and cork coasters. In my previous life (living in UK) I didn't have coasters, I would have balked at the idea of even owning one. Possibly due to the 'granny' image or the fact my sitting room was so small we didn't have a coffee table, and therefore no need for a coaster. Another country and a new perspective; coasters are in my good books. Esme and I made these ones. Any suggestions what to do with the rest of the leftover leather? A Brit livi...
