Comedy-size beekeeping Marigolds. How on earth can she handle the frames with those monsters flapping around her fingers? The suit is on the generous side, too. No doubt it will ride up with wear.

Beekeeping in Top-bar Hives. Archive for August, 2008. An update from Ken. August 4, 2008. Since then I have put the legs of the hive in bowls of oil, because I noticed a line of ants marching in and out of the hive. I will take a picture when I have done it. Ants drive me nuts! Anyway, on this visit, my goal was to have a look at the furthest back combs, the first ones they started near the follower board. I have never looked that far back in my previous inspections. Here are some things that I noticed:.

Beekeeping in Top-bar Hives. The Birds and the Bees. May 8, 2008. Ah, spring. The world wakes up, and as they said in Bambi “Nearly everybody gets twitterpated in the springtime.”. And sparrows regularly visiting the feeder in our back yard, along with the occasional Goldfinch. We see some Mockingbirds. But they don’t seem to be using the feeder (maybe the wrong type of food). We also have a pair of Carolina Chickadees. Have taken up residence in a bird house we put up (they had to chase away a bluebird.

About 3/8″ deep. This will receive the ends of the sides to form a box. Here is a photo of a side and the bottom. This is fantastic&#...
