We looked at Shakespeare's Sonnet 30 ("When to the sessions of sweet silent thought" mainly to see how diction produces imagery: court/legal terms and terms from accounting provide the formal "balance sheet" of this poem. New hand-out: Lots of Hamlet questions. ("Small Questions" over each act plus some "Big Questions" covering the play as a whole.). Then consider a fuller, better backdrop for question 4. Hamlet rewrites Claudius's orders.
