2) 研制成功了1.6 10Gb/s铌酸锂调制器多波长光发射端机，波长复用能力达到16波、100GHz间隔。 4) 开发一种基于二纤双向环网的波长通道保护 BWLSR/2 的光子层自愈保护技术，系统的自愈恢复时间在50毫秒以内。 5) 研制了10Gbps和2.5Gbps的光-电-光 O-E-O 光波长转换设备 利用半导体光放大器非线性效应实现了10Gbps的全光波长转换。 6) 在我国首次建成了传输速率为2.5Gbps 10Gbps的高速计算机互联研究试验网络，实现了高速路由器OC-192 10Gbps POS板与DWDM系统的连接，开通了传输速率达10Gbps的高速路由器IP链路。 自主研制成功中国第一个下一代互连网络交换中心DRAGON TAP，通过DRAGON TAP，分别以1Gbps速率连接我国的学术网络CERNET和CSTNET，同时连接到国际下一代互连网络交换中心STAR TAP和亚太地区高速网APAN交换中心Tokyo-XP，完成了与国际下一代互联主干网Abilene和vBNS的互连，为我国下一代互联网研究与世界接轨建立了基础条件。
