http://apoleinaustria.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html

A Pole in Austria. Friday, 30 March 2007. Here on Earth - the rescue of the Baghdad Zoo. What I want to write about today is a program on the radio „Here on earth“. However, first I’d like to make some cultural observations which I actually make every day being a foreigner in. My flatmate was going home for Easter today and to my surprise he gave me an Easter bunny when he was leaving. Why do I mention it? One more thing: how can you recognize a middle-aged wealthy Austrian woman? Tiger locked in a cage,...

A Pole in Austria: The European circus continues

http://apoleinaustria.blogspot.com/2007/06/european-circus-continues.html

A Pole in Austria. Friday, 15 June 2007. The European circus continues. I can’t help it; it will be about my mother country once again. Honestly, I was trying very hard to find an interesting article, first on the Economist’s site, then on www.euronews.net. And what were the results of my efforts? 8220;Sarkozy woos Poles over EU charter”. It showed the new French president visiting. The main issue is. 8217;s threat not to sign the new EU reform. Sarkozy was persuading the Polish president not to do s...

Mainly this blog's aim is to improve my English by basically recording what, how and how much I'm doing for my English. http://birgitsenglishblog.blogspot.com/2007/06/ne-paruski.html

English, English, English. Saturday, June 9, 2007. Yesterday, I read an interesting article in the Kleine Zeitung, written by Alexander Widner for his column "Letters from New York". In the article, he talks about his experiences with American Russians. That's what you're asked if you don't know Russian there. It's no life in affluence but it's secure. And it hasn't always been. I wanted, at least once in my life, live unmolested, without all this anti-Semitic crap that is still alive in Russia&#...That'...

English, English, English. Monday, April 23, 2007. Today, my last years boss called me and asked me whether I wanted to work at the Eurofuturecup. I've never seen 8 or 9 year old boys with such good manners. And furthermore, they were just sooooooo cute! My job basically was to help them whenever there were problems, especially when there were language-barriers. Although there were a lot of other problems as well, i.e. when the bus left without the boys,. Or when there was no food prepared for them.
