Seasons: January 2010
http://familyseasons.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, January 24, 2010. Adam and I have the same issue that so many couples have.where he hits the pillow and is asleep two minutes later (not an exaggeration) and I take forever falling asleep. Inevitably as I am trying to convince myself to sleep, my mind starts to drift to both our hope for the adoption and C. When C was diagnosed, he still stood and cruised along the furniture. I knew he had stopped walking out into the room but, knowing so little about SMA. And then, I learned about just was SMA.

Seasons: September 2011

Saturday, September 3, 2011. C Turns the Big 5. This week our little C turned five. He woke up on the morning of his birthday and told me he was really glad he was five now because it was hard to hold down a finger for four. I told him he actually didn't have to hold up any fingers and could just say the number, and he has really latched on to that idea. :). When asked what kind of birthday party he wanted, he promptly answered, "CARS! Saw this idea on a blog, and it turned out to be pretty easy. The day...

Seasons: November 2009
http://familyseasons.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Saturday, November 28, 2009. Wow Been awhile since we posted. I thought that while we were living with my parents for a few months we'd have more time, but it seems to be just the opposite. We had a wonderful Halloween (and I'll post a few pics later when I'm on the right computer) and a really fun Thanksgiving. So where is the balance? I see moms with new babies and moms with all grown-up kids who struggle with this same issue.and what do you do? My problem is that it is always easier to look at and jud...

Seasons: December 2009

Tuesday, December 8, 2009. The Dinosaurs are Dead. Yesterday, I had a little conversation with C that went something like this:. C: I had a dream about dinosaurs. Do you bemember. They were in my room. Me: Do you know that there aren't any dinosaurs anymore? They lived a long, long time ago, but then they all died and all we have now is their bones. We can see pictures people drew of them, but we can't go to any zoo anywhere and see any. C: The dinosaurs are dead? C: Did they go to live with Jesus?

Seasons: Our Harvest
http://familyseasons.blogspot.com/2012/04/our-harvest.html
Monday, April 30, 2012. I did not plant you, true. But when the season is done,. When the alternative prayers for sun. And for rain are counted,. When the pain of weeding. And the pride of watching are through,. Then I will hold you high,. A shining leaf above the thousand seeds grown wild. Not my planting,. But, by heaven,. I love Carol Lynn Pearson, too! Do you know her story about her husband? Love you so much! April 30, 2012 at 5:12 PM. April 30, 2012 at 8:15 PM. You are in our prayers! Families of S...

our family news: February 2013

Wednesday, February 6, 2013. You've had a birthday! My baby, Mary, the little stinker went and turned 5 on Monday. Her breakfast in bed was quite the sugar bomb. Her choice of favorite cereal was Froot Loops, grandpa brought donuts with heart shaped sprinkles and a little hot chocolate for a cold winter morning. A few days before she turned five (yes when she was still 4) she lost her first tooth. Crazy but she was glad to be able to put her tooth in the tooth pillow for the tooth fairy.

our family news: Fourth of July, DC style
http://wahlquists.blogspot.com/2012/08/fourth-of-july-dc-style.html
Sunday, August 19, 2012. Fourth of July, DC style. We learned from our previous mistake and packed a lunch for our trip down to check out DC on the 4th. We were excited to see all that DC would offer. We tried to watch the parade which I heard can last a couple of hours. I think we lasted about 20 minutes before we bailed and went into the museum. Too hot. The kids spent the next hour or so building pyramids with Legos. Not really what we came for but they were happy. We had planned to go back down to th...

Seasons: February 2011

Wednesday, February 2, 2011. Before C was ever born, I knew I would be one of those moms that cried when their child went to kindergarten. I used to get stressed out when Adam had his first day of a new semester (though he was completely laid back and not nervous at all). When C started preschool I expected myself to boo-hoo a bit, but I came away doing pretty well. Yup It is. And then just give the top of that problem a nice coating of "special needs child" and you get where my tears are coming from.

our family news: March 2012
http://wahlquists.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Friday, March 23, 2012. Yesterday, with more glorious weather, we gathered at the park for an Easter egg hunt. The eggs each had a name written on it, so the kids had to find their own eggs. I guess they have learned something because they were able to find their own names and even show friends which were theirs. Our seven little preschoolers and one little brother. Wednesday, March 21, 2012. I am reading a book called The Happiness Project. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

our family news: Gratitude
http://wahlquists.blogspot.com/2012/11/gratitude.html
Saturday, November 3, 2012. I've noticed on Facebook and other blogs that some are taking the month of November to count their blessings. What a wonderful idea. I think it is easy sometimes easy to focus on the things that are difficult or the things that go wrong. But we (I) are really so blessed. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Gratitude, part 2.
