The women I met at Glory House all came from violent and traumatic backgrounds such as living on the streets and homelessness, losing their children, addiction, prostitution, abuse in all of its horrific forms, prison stays and mental illness and at times, combinations of the above. They were young and old, of all ethnic groups and religions and they were transient on site, but almost all of them were determined to work their way up and out of their predicament. Voices of the women at Glory House. Follow...

Overview | Literacy Power
http://literacy-power.com/pedagogy1/overview
A pedagogy of learning is rooted in several ideas:. Every human being is able to and wants to learn. Although not all the same things – i.e., school topics, at the same time – i.e., a certain age). We all have different abilities, strengths, interests, passions, experiences and needs that impact what we learn;. Diversity across all areas should be leveraged to create an inclusive community based on mutual respect. As we learn from and about each other and enrich everyone’s learning experiences;.
