I imagine that Alcatraz would be a thoroughly more depressing place is Californian weather wasn't so excellent. Charming ferry ride and I'llbe fair and say the tour was incredibly imformative but it was a little too jolly for the harshness and despair of the place. I am glad I went, if only for the views, but they could have caputured the atmosphere better. Monday 19th April 2010.
