Appleton Studios: Travel Log and Art Notes. And, no, it has nothing to do with basketball. Month started out with no snow. But a few days into the month comes the full moon and more snow as seen in a previous blog. I can still track.snow means nothing to me! And so it went for the next couple of weeks. But it cleared up in time for the Dallas Quilt Show on 3/14.of course, with 400 quilts to see, it's almost impossible to see everything. So now the remainder of the month has pretty much looked like this.

Appleton Studios: Travel Log and Art Notes. This time, it's a mini-quilt that will end up in my Etsy shop. Appleton Studios: Travel Log and Art Notes. It was with great surprise and joy when a long-forgotten alcove was discovered! Waitis that a floor? How do I tell the prepared-for-dying (PFD) fabric from white/off-white regular fabric? Guess it will all just have to go in the TBD (to-be-dyed) stack! If dye doesn't work, I'll just move it to the TBP (to-be-painted) stack! And doesn't everyone have a collection of different-sized/shaped bubblewrap? In my house, there is no such thing as a scrap too small to use.

Appleton Studios: Travel Log and Art Notes. So it turns out that we needed a new roof - pointed out to us when it began raining in our living room during the last ice storm. Fortunately the insurance company agreed, so a date was set. That meant that last Wednesday we had to leave the house and go amuse ourselves for the majority of the day. Would have been easier if Dave had been more mobile but probably saved us a great deal of money since we couldn't go strolling through antique malls! Today marks the...

Appleton Studios: Travel Log and Art Notes. Excursion - Pacific/Atlantic/Polar Explorers. This post was supposed to come after the Viking ships, but it got out of order! I was fascinated by Thor Heyerdahl in my adolesent years but had never really thought what might have happened to his raft.well, it's in Oslo; along with his other boat, the Ra II.
