In 2008, STARTALK continued to provide summer language learning opportunities for students to study critical languages and professional development opportunities for teachers of these languages. STARTALK funded summer programs in 30 U.S. states for students and teachers in Arabic and Chinese, as well as adding programs in Urdu, Hindi, and Persian.
