http://lemmondrops.blogspot.com/2008/12/next-and-probably-last-chapter-in-my.html
Friday, December 19, 2008. The next . and probably last . chapter in my life. I have put this post off for a couple of days because there were important family and friends who needed to know first. And honestly, as Steve and I process the latest news, me all looped up on narcotics pain-killers, I have been at a loss for how I will write about it here. I'll write more later. Right now, I need to go rest. Meanwhile, I will leave you with the link to my latest Catholic Spirit column. Which came out in yeste...

lemmondrops: books read in 2007
http://lemmondrops.blogspot.com/2008/01/books-read-in-2007.html
Sunday, January 6, 2008. Books read in 2007. I don't even pretend to be able to keep up with my friend Liz's 50 Book Challenge. But I can say I managed to read 26 books last year. And that doesn't count the reference-type books, such as. The Baby Name Wizard,. Which I feel like I read as if it were a novel. (Really — that book is addictively fascinating! In looking back over these titles, I remember that I was in the middle of a Maeve Binchy run when I learned about my cancer at the end of August. Modern...

lemmondrops: benjamin's birth day
http://lemmondrops.blogspot.com/2008/03/benjamins-birth-day.html
Monday, March 31, 2008. Before I tell this story, I want to say what I've been thinking about with great gratitude all week, which is that I am proof that a woman can have a natural, medication-free birth without taking a special class (like a Bradley method class) and without being in particularly good physical shape. (And after a prior c-section. So here's how Ben's VBAC birth. I had a couple of intense contractions on the way out of the house, and then, in the middle of our front walk, my water broke ...

You see, I actually went into labor with Graycen on Labor. Day So since then, it has kind of served as a mini day of reflection for me. I constantly find myself thinking, "at this time xx. Even though Graycen's birthday was 2 days ago I'm still going to wish her a very happy 3rd birthday. Hope your 3s bring you many good things!

Mommy, Daddy and The Sweet Peas. A day in the life of mommy, daddy and our little sweet peas. Wednesday, June 3, 2009. Works for me Wednesday : Zip it up. Last weekend when we decided to take a trip to the zoo we forgot the stroller. Now, with two kids in tow and a diaper bag you know this was going to be interesting. Well, Graycen decided she didn't want to wear her little zip up jacket and the diaper bag was too full to jam it in there. My only options were going to be:. That works for me! I am a wife ...

lemmondrops: faq about this blog
http://lemmondrops.blogspot.com/2006/06/faq-about-this-blog.html
Monday, June 5, 2006. Faq about this blog. I know. Sometimes I'm gazing at my pregnancy bump — and sometimes I'm naval-gazing! In case you're still trying to get a handle on what this blog is all about (like I am), here's a handy FAQ. So who exactly is your audience? Writing for you as much as I'm writing for me. Those are the days when I just let my head — or heart or gut — spill out, like I'm writing in a journal. How do you know? Do you find yourself writing just to the people who comment? Whose react...

lemmondrops: books books books
http://lemmondrops.blogspot.com/2007/02/books-books-books.html
Tuesday, February 20, 2007. So I've updated my own (much-shorter) list. Here it is: Books I read (or reread) in 2006. It doesn't include the books about baby care that sit on the coffee table, as those are works in progress. Midnight Is A Place. By Frances Hodgson Burnett. The Secret Life of Bees. By Sue Monk Kidd. Being Dead Is No Excuse: The Official Southern Ladies Guide to Hosting the Perfect Funeral. By Gayden Metcalfe and Charlotte Hays. Perfect Madness : Motherhood in the Age of Anxiety. We had a ...

lemmondrops: more lung trouble
http://lemmondrops.blogspot.com/2008/12/more-lung-trouble.html
Tuesday, December 16, 2008. I spent most of yesterday at the doctor's and the outpatient section of the hospital. It turns out I have more fluid in my right lung (more than last time), which means more collapsed lung, which explains my breathlessness and pain in my chest and back. So I did get to go home last night (after a PET-CT scan which was already scheduled). I don't feel a whole lot better, but I see Dr. S. tomorrow, and maybe we'll learn more. Oh damn Emilie,. I'm sorry to hear that. I've decided...
