I knew it was a lot of all of the above and so I stayed away, praying that if ever the time was right for both them and me, we’d find ourselves in a situation where we could have that contact and I would get the opportunity to make a true amend and then close that door for good if that’s what needed to happen.

My sobriety date is 24.01.14. I was in the last week of my 27th year when I finally reached the necessary rock bottom and subsequent surrender to the fact that I was an alcoholic and more importantly, that I can’t drink ever again.
