The Beard Family Blog. Friday, August 7, 2015. Abbie's 11th Birthday Party! Abbie had a great time today celebrating her upcoming 11th birthday with her best friend, Lydia! A lady in our neighborhood, Kari, that makes cakes, cupcakes and cookies came to our house to teach them how to bake and decorate cupcakes! Abbie became interested in baking a few weeks ago. She was so excited when I told her we could do this for her birthday party! She now wants a Kitchenaid stand mixer! They baked cupcakes first.

The Beard Family Blog. Monday, January 19, 2015. Mardi Gras Swim Meet. This past weekend, I took the kids to Baton Rouge for Abbie to swim in a fun Mardi Gras swim meet at LSU. And she did great! We had a great meal and an even better time catching up. The kids hit it off - Noah with Jacob and Abbie with Grayson - and Christy and I were able to have a real, adult conversation! We didn't go to bed around midnight, but got to sleep in until 9:00 or so in a cold, dark hotel room! Here is the parade in action.

The Beard Family Blog. Saturday, July 26, 2014. More Camps - JAM and Rice Baseball! This past week, Abbie went to JAM camp, which is our church's camp for her age group. The Beard Family Blog. Sunday, March 22, 2015. Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. We've had a great weekend so far! Granny and Papaw flew in to see us Thursday night. On Friday, I picked the kids up from school before their lunch time and we headed downtown for lunch and then to the rodeo! We are so thankful that the rain held off a day for us.
