Friday, March 31, 2006. Inauguration of my blog. This is no April Fools Day joke. But, it is an experiment. Introducing the Aaron Sharghi blog. If you heard about my blog, you probably got an email from my personal account - my gmail account - Google again. And the photos that I uploaded? Ah, that was Picasa - yet another Google product. Big brother is here. Don't believe me? And so, I am contributing perhaps to Google's domination of the web. And why not, it makes life easier - for the moment. The other...

Aaron Sharghi blog: August 2008
http://aaronsharghi.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 10, 2008. This summer, I’ll be taking a month vacation as I have the last several years. This year is different, though, as I won’t be getting to the US. In fact, I won’t be traveling far away at all. Instead, my parents, family members, and friends are coming to Dakar and we’ll be celebrating my marriage with my Senegalese fiancee Jeanne Faye. She has 4 sisters and 3 brothers, all in Senegal except for one brother in Turin, Italy. Posted by Aaron at 11:53 PM. Subscribe to my blog.

Sunday, August 20, 2006. N'Djamena, Chad vs. Akron, Ohio. How hot does it get here? Dust storm season is over now, and we are at the peak of the rainy season. However, when the city planners laid out N’Djamena roads, they left out a small detail: drainage. Even with a 4X4 truck, I have to carefully navigate through the city being careful not to be swallowed up by the mud (shift of thought, not all roads are paved! Now that is wet! OK - now for the weather comparison:. And then, just a few other compariso...

Aaron Sharghi blog: April 2007

Saturday, April 14, 2007. It's HOT in Chad. It’s been six months since my last update. I am at the same job in the same country, though the political climate here is in constant change. Yesterday marks the one-year anniversary of my evacuation from. This is the hot time of year that armies can move freely through the desert and across the land; once the rainy season begins in June, temporary rivers known locally as wadis begin to form and prevent free movement. It’s a hot topic! S own, CNN:. From the 3 t...

Tuesday, April 25, 2006. Written on 24/25 April 2006. From Mont Febe overlooking Yaounde, Cameroon. From five stories up (Americans, note that the ground floor is zero), I sit on my apartment balcony above the bustling streets and admire this African capital glowing with city lights. From here, I shall tell you about the last week’s activities. Posted by Aaron at 4:01 PM. Saturday, April 15, 2006. The Sounds of War. Written on 14 April 2006. Aaron Sharghi blog: March 2008
http://aaronsharghi.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, March 12, 2008. It is March 04 and I am riding high, 30,000 feet above the African continent on my way to Accra, capital city of Ghana on the south coast of West Africa. It will be my first time to return since I went on vacation for the turn of the millennium in late 1999 early 2000. That was a great vacation that turned tragic when 2 of my 3 companions, Jesse and Justin, died in a car crash in Guinea as they were returning to their work sites in middle Guinea. Is that correct, to Dakar?
