August | 2014 | PRISONER OF HOPE
https://aprisonerofhope.com/2014/08
Monthly Archives: August 2014. August 11, 2014. If I would have known beforehand what God would ask of me in these days, I’m not sure I would have said yes. But I don’t think I ever once considered how hard it would be to lose them. Lately, God is always prying open my hand, continually asking me to loosen my grip of these kids. NOT to love them any less- but just to loosen my grip and trust them in His. Its true what I said up there- if God would have told me ahead of time how hard this would be, I’m no...

Newer posts →. November 18, 2014. I’m sitting here in the airport in Manila about to board my flight to China. From China I’ll hop on a plane to LAX (see what I did there? And then head home to Dallas. Inevitably, I was asked the question multiple times this week- how am I feeling about going home? It’s been a little over a year and a half since I left home and moved to the Philippines. Am I excited? I don’t really know what I am, honestly. Mostly excited, of course! I’m clearly conflicted y’all! I admit...

Monthly Archives: January 2015. January 29, 2015. All the things :. A phrase coined by my dear friend Reagan Taylor to be used when trying to describe emotions or experiences that are all over the map. For example- if someone were to ask me, Leah how are you feeling now that you are back in the Philippines? 8230;instead of listing all my emotions- excited, busy, happy to be back with my people, missing my other people, hopeful, etc.I would simply say instead- I’m feeling. Here’s all the things. Every kid...

What The World Race Wasn’t Meant To Be | Beloved: [Be] loved and love
https://michelleimig.wordpress.com/2013/09/30/what-the-world-race-wasnt-meant-to-be
Beloved: [Be] loved and love. What The World Race Wasn’t Meant To Be. September 30, 2013. Last year I had the opportunity to travel to 11 countries and serve in various ways (if you didn’t already know that). Throughout that experience I saw at first hand a different, more severe kind of poverty than what is typically experienced here in the U.S. Philippines: pumping water from a well that supported hundreds of displaced families. Swaziland: kids receiving what most likely was their only meal for the day.

Beloved: [Be] loved and love. My 2013 Year in Review! December 31, 2013. Considering I haven’t written in months and that this year is coming to an end in a few hours, I thought:. Heck, I’ll go out with a bang and write a year in review for myself. Haha! So, as I like to preface many of my blogs:. In case you didn’t know, in 2013…. I worked 3 different jobs (YMCA, Group Mission Trips, and currently I’m a paraprofessional for the Moline School District – and I love it! Here’s to butter! Michaela and I on ...

Beloved: [Be] loved and love. Monthly Archives: August 2013. August 18, 2013. If I were asked what I’ve learned this summer, I would sum it up in four words:. God knows my heart. He knows what brings me joy. This summer He placed me in one of the most beautiful states in America. I was able to run (of course, after weeks. Of adjusting to the altitude! And see His beauty in the mountains and clear blue sky. While driving to our various sites each day I could look to the west and view His grandeur. It̵...

Beloved: [Be] loved and love. I Fell In Love. June 7, 2013. Hey y’all. Just want to share what’s been on my heart all day today:. I fell in love. That’s what I told my mom in a message on Facebook when I was in Swaziland last year. His name is Siphilile, I met him at our care point for ministry……….and he’s the cutest 5 year old boy ever. 🙂. Meet my little man, Siphilile. He’s quite the ham in pictures 🙂. He barely spoke English. He climbed all over me like a jungle gym. Not knowing if he’d be safe.

This isn’t what I want…or is it? | Beloved: [Be] loved and love
https://michelleimig.wordpress.com/2013/06/04/this-isnt-what-i-want-or-is-it
Beloved: [Be] loved and love. This isn’t what I want…or is it? June 4, 2013. One would think after doing something like the World Race I would be accustomed to change. Here I am, packing up my bags every three weeks, traveling to a new location, meeting new and wonderful people, going through the torturous process of saying goodbye, and doing it all over again. At one point I even became used to this change. And yet, here I am starting something new again…and I don’t like it! And Him taking you along wit...

Beloved: [Be] loved and love. Stretchin’ like a rubber band. June 30, 2013. I was told when I first accepted this job that it would be difficult. That it would come with little sleep (and I loooove my sleep). And that it would. Welp, after our first two weeks of camp, I can see how true those statements are! With the Lord’s help and guiding hand, though, my partner Michaela and I have made it thus far. Just to give you a better glimpse as to what I’m doing all the way out here in Colorado…. I also assign...

Prisoner of Conscience
Verse of the Day. Wednesday, September 16, 2009. I have moved the blog location. You can find it here. Monday, April 20, 2009. You have probably already heard these verses several times by now. Love is patient, love is kind, love does not envy. Notice how love is not an emotion. Being patient is not an emotion. Being kind to someone is not an emotion. Envy and jealousy are emotions, but love doesn’t display those characteristics. Love is … a choice. That is why love is not an emotion.

Prisoner of Conscience
November 14, 2014 · 3:38 am. Christians Who Fail to Do. I have been away from this blog for a little while now and I am finally starting to feel the draw to come back and write. I believe I have stated before that Christians have a responsibility to share aspects of their lives with other Christians in order to help them know they are not alone in their struggles. The biggest struggle I have been dealing with is not wanting to . Last month, I had a friend who has struggled with trying to remain celibate ...
Prisoner of Hope
Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze." Isaiah 43:1-2. Monday, May 23, 2011. Do I strive for good things when it seems all good things have some sort of pain? Do I seek understanding when it brings "pain"? What do I strive for? Tuesday, October 12, 2010.
PRISONER OF HOPE
8220;My heart feels warm”, she said. July 7, 2017. They are the heroes. 8220;And when you pray, He said, pray like this:. Our Father who is in Heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread”. I’ve been coming to these villages long enough to know the secret: there is really a special joy to be found here in this kind of life. I don’t say its easy, because absolutely nothing about life here is easy. I do the best I can wit...

A Prisoners Dilemma | My time in an American Jail-Cell
My time in an American Jail-Cell. On March 16, 2012. Reluctant to wake from a deep sleep I stumble out to disgusting juevos rancheros. I drink the milk, eat the tiny piece of coffee cake, giving away the res. My stomach is a clenched fist. 6:01 comes without my name on the speaker and all my fears become real. I dig around for my girlfriend’s email that said my early release date. Feb 23rd. Today. Patience. That is a very bad sign. A Prison of Lies. An Explosive Coming of Age Story. Unlike most fictions that use mental illness as the foundation of their story line and will develop it only to the point where it will drives the plot, A Prison of lies plunges into the heart of the illness and maintains its focus there. And unlike nonfiction books on the topic which tend to be somewhat dry and clinical, this book is an entirely a gripping read. A Prison of Lies. By Bliss Drive Review.
