Because I have spent many years in the construction industry, for me sculpture is about addition and assembly. I've worked a lot with architectural metals, wood and glass, and the geodesic designs of Buckminster Fuller have been an influence. There is something about making things with your hands that is fundamental to our relationship with the world, something that can't be done with words or images, or with money.
