Monday, October 13, 2008. In my opinion I don't think that Think-Tac-Toe is tiering. After reading the activity I don't think you should let students decide when they want to turn in their assignment. With a tiering activity you should challenge all students. They will rise to the challenge. Encourage your students. Let them provide feedback to one another. Would you consider it tiered if one readiness level receives version 1, and another readiness level receives version 2? October 22, 2008 at 5:09 AM.

Monday, October 13, 2008. Take a closer look at the different tasks a teacher has the students DO in their journals. Wouldn't this be "pro-active" teaching of specific processes the teacher wants the students to engage in? Wouldn't it be good teaching for a teacher to pre-assess with some kind of writing sample, and then know the readiness levels of their writing well enough to TIER what she requires them to write in their journals?
