All in my head: A Passage to India
http://babelet.blogspot.com/2011/03/i-have-read-accounts-of-pre-independent.html
All in my head. Monday, March 14, 2011. A Passage to India. I have read accounts of pre-independent India (both fiction and non-fiction) written from both the colonial and nationalist points of view. I had never imagined though, that there existed a neutral ground in anyone's mind, let alone a satiric one. E M Forster's A Passage to India. Came as the most pleasant surprise. I nearly put the book down on seeing the title of the first chapter - The Mosque. 3-4 pages into the book. Luckily, I read on.

All in my head. Saturday, November 20, 2010. Source: Star of Mysore). JUNGLE FEVER AT SUNKADAKATTE FOREST RESERVE. Ever since I watched Jurassic Park, I’ve been fascinated by dense, tropical rainforests which are full of surprises at every turn. I’ve always wondered where I’d find a place like that, closer to home, and it so turned out that such a forest is much closer than I imagined. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). All in her head. All in my head: June 2011
http://babelet.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
All in my head. Wednesday, June 29, 2011. Lots of reading over the past 2 months, thanks to a month-long vacation and general laziness. Read John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men. And Jane Austen's Mansfield Park. Of Mice and Men. Is a quick read and a touching narrative. However, it is so depressing, and the ending so unbelievably sad that I don't want to talk about it. Is not linear in time. It sways through different periods depending on Billy's train of thought. His mind wavers between reality and...Too, ...

All in my head. Sunday, October 09, 2011. Shall remain half-read for one reason - too close to reality to be appreciated for its sarcasm. This was when I realized that Catch 22 was probably funny and easier to read simply because I never lived through WW2. Heller's next work, Something Happened -. And Asimov's I, Robot. All in my head. Saturday, January 21, 2012. Franklin on a Friday Afternoon. Being a complete stranger to US history, I knew of Benjamin Franklin only in name as a founding father and for the discovery of electricity. I chanced upon Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin. Early this afternoon, thanks to Google Books. Six hours later, here goes. And his rise as a statesman. I won't describe these.). Of all his achievements, what impressed me most was his annual, Poor Richard's Almanac. All in her head.

Every newborn child opens its eyes to discrimination: at first, if it's a girl or boy and then, on its colour, looks; at school, on its marks, parents’ financial status, school's name; in college, again its marks, dresses and 'coolness'; at work, it will be company's name, mode of transport, salary and what not. The government, however, showed some...

All in my head: October 2010
http://babelet.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
All in my head. Saturday, October 02, 2010. I began reading the biography of Martin Luther King Jr. in comic form, King. By Ho Che Anderson, in the reading room of Doe Library. Picked it up for two reasons - one, biography in comic form is a fun way to read the story of someone's life, and, two, it was a nice way to learn American history for a beginner like me. It was so hard to put down, I was done in three sittings. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). All in her head. View my complete profile.
