Thoughts on screenwriting and filmmaking. Laquo; Friday Video Fun. A tough act to follow. Give your characters something to work with. July 8, 2011. Memorable characters make for memorable films. They give lead actors a reason to want to take the part, which makes your script very marketable. They give the audience someone to love or hate. Give your character a flaw. If superman didn’t have Kryptonite as a weakness how interesting would he be? Give your character a secret. They know something no other ch...

Thoughts on screenwriting and filmmaking. Laquo; Pitch Perfect. Music to my ears. Have you read anything good lately? August 12, 2011. Put yourself in the reader’s shoes. A rom-com about a guy with a dog and a girl with a cat? Yeah, well unless they go to summer camp and get chain-sawed by an escaped killer clown on the third page of the script, your boss, who only produces horror films isn’t going to like it. PASS (Even if it was the greatest rom-com ever written.). A good writer knows their audience.
