Monday, January 19, 2015. The first pregnant human on our ranch. I excitedly told my husband last night that as of next week, we are halfway through my first pregnancy. He paused, then reminded me that doctors all go on a 40-week pregnancy, so technically I was wrong. Big sigh. Here's what we've learned so far:. 1 My productivity is directly linked to coffee! Wednesday, October 15, 2014. The calves of fall. Last week I grabbed my camera and headed out to check the cow's water, with the goal of getting some nice photos of our whopping steer calves. It proved as easy as getting a photo of a group of elementary school-aged human males where they're all looking at you and smiling, but the beautiful day did lend itself nicely to capturing other members of the bunch. Wednesday, November 20, 2013. The Rocky Point fall gather. Way back on Oct. 20, we converged on the WY/MT border for our annual fall gather/wean/work calves/ship home day at the Rocky Point Grazing Association. Thursday, February 27, 2014. Purchasing a camera for ranch use. My brand new Canon 7D and two kit lenses (aka, personal sacrifices instead of a single L-series lens due to the purchase of a camera body) arrived today! Monday, March 9, 2015. Warm temps, baby calves. It's a beautiful afternoon in western South Dakota. Temperatures are in the 60's and we have a slight breeze at best. Tuesday, October 15, 2013. The Atlas Blizzard in photos. One of my husband's cows that didn't make it as well as a couple calves belonging to a neighbor.
