E Surveyors: International property investors paradise
http://esurveyors.blogspot.com/2013/02/international-property-investors.html
Thursday, 28 February 2013. International property investors paradise. With the pound devalued we quickly think about our holidays and when to get our Euros. Those in business look at how easy it would be to export given the perceived 10% discount to Europeans etc at the moment. Others in business cringe as they see the cost of their imports increase by 10%. Elsewhere in the country we see property values in the North struggling as interest from overseas appears to be restricted to the Capital. RBS makes...

E Surveyors: The use of photos in HomeBuyer Reports
http://esurveyors.blogspot.com/2013/02/the-use-of-photos-in-homebuyer-reports.html
Saturday, 9 February 2013. The use of photos in HomeBuyer Reports. When carrying out inspections of properties, Chartered Surveyors are often keen to record as much information as they can to help them remember the property now and in the future. However, many Reports do not include these photographs as attaching them to files is time consuming and costly for printing. We hope you enjoy the results of your survey and that it gives you something to read over and over again as you wait to move in. Subscrib...

E Surveyors: February 2010
http://esurveyors.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Friday, 26 February 2010. According to a national newspaper today, house prices have fallen for the first time in several months. Sky News quote for the first time in ten months. When we look at the housing market as we come out of a recession we expect instant results, but the difficulties in obtaining mortgages for first time buyers remain. This is bound to affect the housing market and their prices. This is most probably just a stutter. We wait for the weather to warm up, flowers to fill the garde...

E Surveyors: October 2010
http://esurveyors.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, 21 October 2010. The cost of a house survey. Has remained static now for some time and in real terms has dropped. The cost of being a Chartered Surveyor. Has risen with expensive insurance premiums, high administration costs for producing the new HomeBuyer Repor. T and having to pay for licenses to be registered as producing HomeBuyer Reports. And for the impending Red Book Valuation regulation. The value of a building survey. Or a HomeBuyer Repor. On a recent homebuyer report. Is always justif...

E Surveyors: October 2009
http://esurveyors.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 13 October 2009. Thinking of a career as a residential chartered surveyor? When I think of all the jobs I could have done and here I am a chartered surveyor looking at houses all day, I do wonder how I got so lucky. The ambition remained and a couple of years later I revisited the surveying career and took an almost voluntary position for Savills in their newly formed national auction department. It was a very exciting time and the auction was a success. So much so, that they moved the d...I fin...

E Surveyors: When is a HomeBuyer Report not a HomeBuyer Report?
http://esurveyors.blogspot.com/2013/04/when-is-homebuyer-report-not-homebuyer.html
Wednesday, 3 April 2013. When is a HomeBuyer Report not a HomeBuyer Report? Since the launch of the RICS HomeBuyer Report service in 2009, many buyers will have experienced a move with the assistance of our most popular survey report. However, having recently revisited some of our initial Reports that went out using the official RICS software, we can clearly see where we think we have improved. Photographs are now added within the Report to clearly identify issues where necessary. Not all Surveyors are t...

E Surveyors: January 2012
http://esurveyors.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 3 January 2012. House Prices to rise in 2012? Oh and the Olympics. The start of a New Year is always exciting. You start to think ahead and plan your year. It may have been New Year resolutions to give up smoking, chocolate or alcohol or a promise that this year will be better. Perhaps a new car or the moving home you have been putting off as you wait for the market to drop to its worse point or pick up so that you can sell for the price you paid for it. Links to this post. E Surveyors: February 2011
http://esurveyors.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, 17 February 2011. The VAT Rise, Inflation and Interest Rates. It has been a gloomy start to 2011 according to the Press, but the word on Surveying Street is that things have not been that bad at all. Talking to our affiliates, it is clear that some parts of the country are enjoying plenty of interest from property investors, first time buyers and the bungalow buyer. Interest rates though are likely to rise in March, so what will this mean? So be glad that Chartered Surveyors fees. Have remained...

E Surveyors: March 2010
http://esurveyors.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 24 March 2010. Purely from a housing market perspective, the 2010 budget brings missed blessings. As an owner of a property valued at £250,000 and soon to sell, I am delighted with the news that this property will now be exempt from stamp duty for the next two years. As a Chartered Surveyor, I am again delighted as this will no doubt lead to an increase in sales to first time buyers and potential parents helping their children onto the housing ladder.
