http://likentolife.blogspot.com/2015/02/on-passing-of-hart.html
Wednesday, February 18, 2015. On the Passing of a Hart. Often a tool in the Lord's hand to bring comfort and joy to others, she had planned to bring the cookies to a friend with another of her gift jars in a neighboring city, but on the way, she changed her mind and brought them to us. Today, I see God's hand in that simple decision; she did the errand of angels:. For today we learned early this morning of the passing of Arlette Hart. How we will miss you Oma! Liken to Life: Labor and Delivery
http://likentolife.blogspot.com/2015/07/labor-and-delivery.html
Thursday, July 16, 2015. For the updated version of this poem. Severing pain and surgery- a thief in the night. I choose: to scream and to pray, as I lay upon the altar. But there is no ram in the thicket. No angel stops the knife. That stabs three times. And robs me of all future labors. Salty tears flow freely and often for an empty, aching womb. I choose: to live, to hurt, to cry:. Why lead me by miracles. To the edge of the Red Sea. And part the waters. If only to let them crash upon me? Boxes to hit,.

Liken to Life: April 2011
http://likentolife.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 5, 2011. I was at the Thomas Jefferson Education Forum. And the keynote speaker was James Ferrell, who is the CEO of Arbinger. In his lecture, he described the pyramid shown below. While listening to Ferrell, I did something a mentor of mine had suggested once. I restated in my notes and in my mind what I was hearing as if I were going to teach it to someone else. But my mind wandered a bit and I wrote down how Id teach it if I were to apply it directly to music. Seeing others as people.

Tuesday, April 21, 2015. Love, Conduit of Light pt. 2. While rereading this quote I had shared on my cousin's scripture study fb site today, some. Thoughts begged to be expressed. I realized as I wrote the feelings that came that it was the second part of. This previous post about love being a conduit of light. That I had not felt ready to write yet. First, the quote:. Faith is the same. If we think we have faith, we should ask, faith in whom or faith in what? Dallin H. Oaks, April 1994. I have experienc...

Liken to Life: "Ondine" Likened
http://likentolife.blogspot.com/2013/09/ondine-likened.html
Tuesday, September 24, 2013. Back in July, I shared a dilemma I had between the new way I was mentoring in piano and the old reasons that were the only way I really knew for using my own piano skills. I felt in need of a destination to journey toward. I shared here. How witnessing a cellist's performance had reminded me of a purpose for music that became the seed of what led to this post and others that will follow (as I've decided to do this again with new pieces). I found on someone's blog). The compos...

Liken to Life: Tweaking Poetry
http://likentolife.blogspot.com/2013/06/tweaking-poetry.html
Thursday, June 13, 2013. The little poem that flowed so quickly the other day. I have felt to revisit and tweak. I believe this version is a . . . closer translation of the feeling that lingers still. Pull me outside my little self, Lord. Grasp my reaching hands in thine,. Only when minds do. The world is bigger then. Scientific methods and laboratories. The sphere that envelopes the. One my natural eyes see -. It is that sphere that inspired. Of this little sphere. The crumb that falls to the ground.

Liken to Life: We Are One of Many - Postscript
http://likentolife.blogspot.com/2013/06/one-of-many-postscript.html
Friday, June 21, 2013. We Are One of Many - Postscript. Application Paper #1: One of Many, Postscript. Click for Part 1). I sat in the parking lot of the grocery store in my car. We came home from guitar, I dropped off Ellie and left again. "We need bread," I said. Really, I needed time to process alone. Understanding was flowing that I needed to get on paper. Well, in my phone's "note paper." My mind turns to a scripture:. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be. I suddenly fe...

Liken to Life: Connect the Dots...
http://likentolife.blogspot.com/2015/06/connect-dots.html
Thursday, June 11, 2015. Confession to my husband: I bought a bunch of digital books today. It's your birthday tomorrow, but you won't be home. You're even out of cell phone range. I'll spoil you when you return. Today, out of loneliness, with you and half the children gone- and to avoid what I should write, but don't feel ready to- I splurged on. 1 A collection of modern religious poetry in support of. A blogger I recently discovered. But Mary's brain has been flooded, washed. A secret place,. 2 Then I ...
