Poprocks and Goblins: What I Eat: Attack of the Growing Oatmeal
http://poprocksandgoblins.blogspot.com/2013/05/what-i-eat-attack-of-growing-oatmeal.html
Monday, May 20, 2013. What I Eat: Attack of the Growing Oatmeal. After I wrote about losing weight, I got a few questions about what I eat, so I'll share a few of my favorites from time to time. For the most part, I eat the same things over and over because: (a) I love them, and (b) I feel "safer" eating something familiar within my crazy Weight Watchers/gluten-free/plant-based parameters. I make this stove-top oatmeal (adapting the Hungry Girl growing oatmeal. Adapted from www.hungry-girl.com. Because i...

Poprocks and Goblins: The Nature of Dog
http://poprocksandgoblins.blogspot.com/2013/12/the-nature-of-dog.html
Tuesday, December 31, 2013. The Nature of Dog. Gibby Is he a D-O-G. or a G-O-D? It occurred to me on my walk yesterday morning that I may have it all wrong. By "it," I mean, what if what I *think* is real. isn't? Like, what if my dog - seen here in his usual stance and mood, a happy yellow lab with his tongue hangin' out, waiting for a walk or a crumb to drop - isn't really the pet I think he is, but instead is. (gulp). What a freakin' accomplishment! Sometimes I mistake his barks for anger, when he's re...

Art Fetish: Busy, busy, busy
http://andreasaujani.blogspot.com/2011/03/busy-busy-busy.html
March 4, 2011. Busy, busy, busy. So the good news is that I'm back in the studio today with several "mini psyche's" under way. A bit of a challenge since my studio itself isn't completely unpacked yet, kind of making the whole process a bit of treasure hunt, but very exciting when I accidentally stumble upon just the right tidbit. Recently got back from New Orleans and now getting ready for ArtFest. Next month where I'll be teaching a couple of classes on both my layered collage. March 7, 2011 at 5:59 AM.

Art Fetish: January 2010
http://andreasaujani.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
January 24, 2010. A Confession for Day Three. Reluctantly, I have to admit I struggled a bit with this one. I looked at the original that Angi. Sent me, and I got nothing, no vision for what I wanted to do. I looked at the collage and wondered "What is she trying to say? Smackdown Day Three is done! I'm hoping that you see her as accomplished and worldly as I do, and you've enjoyed these "smackdowns" as much as I have! Links to this post. January 6, 2010. For day two of the challenge, Angi.

Art Fetish: September 2010

September 1, 2010. The Mystical Eight of Swords. I may have mentioned once or twice before just how much I adore tarot cards. Beautifully depicted scenes rich in symbolism awaiting mystic and metaphoric interpretation - what could be better? In the course of doing personal tarot card readings (what? You didn't know I moonlight as a gypsy? After much reflection, I decided to reintrepret the 8 of swords like this:. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Art Fetish: December 2009
http://andreasaujani.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
December 6, 2009. So, my good friend Angi Sullins. Here's what happened on day one:. This is Angi's collage, the starting image for everyone in the challenge. I was really drawn to the youthful sweetness of the face and the whimsy of the hat, so here's what I came up with:. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Monday, May 20, 2013. Keeping Berries and Greens Fresh in the Fridge. If you don't have a fancy "berry keeper,". Use the following method:. For strawberries, cherries and blueberries, DO NOT RINSE or wash them before you store them - they will rot and turn ugly! Instead, place them in more or less a single layer (blueberries can be on top of each other) on a few paper towels in a shallow bowl or tupperware container, cover, and store in the fridge. This is what they look like this morning:. Considering h...

Poprocks and Goblins: November 2012
http://poprocksandgoblins.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Monday, November 5, 2012. A Poem for Monday. Sometimes change happens because outside forces cause us to change the way we live. Other times, it happens from within, like a light that gradually bursts out of our bodies like a wildfire. In the midst of contemplating the very nature of change in my own life, I dutifully went to Monday morning yoga. And I was rewarded by this poem, which my teacher read at the very beginning of class:. Archaic Torso of Apollo. We cannot know his legendary head. Simple templ...
