Archaeology for the People: M.I.A.
http://archaeologyforthepeople.blogspot.com/2013/06/mia.html
Archaeology for the People. Thoughts on archaeology, cultural resource management, historic preservation and whatever else I want. Monday, June 24, 2013. Clearly, I have not written in quite a while. I have simply been too busy. I don't think that will change, but I am hoping to post on a more regular schedule. My original goal for this blog was to post some musings, random thoughts and observations. Specifically, contract archaeology-related topics. Anyway, I said I would restart this, so here it is.
Archaeology for the People: Kettle Falls
http://archaeologyforthepeople.blogspot.com/2009/05/kettle-falls-i-am-heading-up-to-kettle.html
Archaeology for the People. Thoughts on archaeology, cultural resource management, historic preservation and whatever else I want. Thursday, May 7, 2009. I have to revisit my thesis data. My results were somewhat disappointing, mainly because I was not quite sure why I could not identify functionally differentiated sites. Are the sites just not that different? That is possible. Did I do something wrong? That is also possible. Is the data just in bad shape and not usable? Again, that is also a possibility.

Archaeology for the People. Thoughts on archaeology, cultural resource management, historic preservation and whatever else I want. Thursday, April 30, 2009. Hmm, is sub-meter accuracy really worth the an extra 2 grand? I say no most of the time. Wednesday, April 29, 2009. Some thoughts on prehistoric land use in NE Oregon. So…first blog, first blog entry. Not quite sure what to write, so might as well start off with what I have been working on recently. Saw a number of good papers, some not so good.
Archaeology for the People: 1/8-inch Mesh Screen
http://archaeologyforthepeople.blogspot.com/2013/06/18-inch-mesh-screen.html
Archaeology for the People. Thoughts on archaeology, cultural resource management, historic preservation and whatever else I want. Monday, June 24, 2013. One of the main things I have taken on concerns screen size. Here in the Northwest, the trend has been towards using fine mesh (1/8-inch mesh) for all archaeological investigations. This is not simply sub-sampling with fine mesh, but processing all excavated sediment through fine mesh. That is, it just seems more science-y. Finding features is more clos...

A test of home education - in archeology
A test of home education – in archeology. June 2, 2015. The topic this term is Barcelona, Gaudi and Miro in school. Since I won’t be taking a summer vacation, I thought that we could go on a field trip to Barcelona, so whatever they are learning about will become real and not just images on pictures and abstract, but a hands on experience. Since we will have 3 days in Barcelona, we already planned our trip. Why is Gaudi’s work so outstanding – what where the norms of the era. What has lived on from his w...

Archaeology for the Soul
The Woman’s Soul. Poetry For The Beloved. I sense your Presence. Ravished by thoughts unseen. Words whispered in soulful silence. Mysterious echoes touching my heart. Fluid, I let my essence drift to You. Heal your wounds,. Set us all free. For as you heal,. The whole world heals with you! My heart burns on the altar of LOVE. The scent climbs to the breath of my Beloved. I awaken Him with my fragrance. I have fallen from your Soul. In pieces of past lives I cannot recall. You are forever more. We leave b...
