A Daily Dose of Architecture: AE3: Habitable Bridges

https://archidose.blogspot.com/2008/04/ae3-habitable-bridges.html

A Daily Dose of Architecture. Almost) daily architectural musings and imagery from New York City. My recent posts at World-Architects. Wednesday, April 02, 2008. Using a bridge for something more than the movement of people and goods is not a new thing, as Italy's surviving Rialto Bridge (Venice) and Ponte Vecchio (Florence) attest. But their use for more than small kiosks, as habitable bridges, if you will, is a recent concept most overtly embraced by Steven Holl. Linked Hybrid in Beijing, China by Stev...

Michelle: I love you MoMA

http://michelleytown.blogspot.com/2011/02/i-love-you-moma.html

Friday, February 11, 2011. I love you MoMA. On our visit to New York City in 2009, we visited MoMA. It was only a quick visit as we were leaving that day, but we got to see what we wanted. Except for the Tim Burton Exhibition, but we later got to see that when it visited Melbourne. These are some of our highlights. Of course we shouldn't expect anything less than tremendously long lines at MoMA, even during Winter. But one can always rely on a trusty sister to have pre-bought tickets to skip the queue.

A Daily Dose of Architecture

A Daily Dose of Architecture. Almost) daily architectural musings and imagery from New York City. My recent posts at World-Architects. Thursday, March 15, 2018. Book of the Moment: Castelvecchio. One of the highlights of a semester spent in Italy nearly 25 years ago was a visit to Carlo Scarpa's Castelvecchio in Verona, Italy. With that, I'm super-excited to learn about Richard Murphy's new book, Carlo Scarpa and Castelvecchio Revisited. Put out by his own (I'm guessing) Breakfast Mission Publishing.
