A Date on the Calendar. So it looks like Virginia is having spine surgery on August 18. That’s nine weeks from today. I have a peace about it to the extent that we received the same opinion from all the doctors and Virginia’s curve has progressed to the point over the last month or so that she is in considerable pain. We saw Virginia’s pediatric orthopedic surgeon on Thursday. It looks like her curve has progressed to the point that we need to make a decision about rod surgery. That being said, it is also impossible to imagine putting your happy, life-loving, “healthy” daughter through a high-risk surgery and facing the real possibility of losing her. Sometimes Love Is Messy. Eliza, after enjoying her first chocolate chip cookie. I have been wanting to write about this for months, but haven’t been able to find the words. This is an emotional topic for me, so I am just going to jump right in…. One of the hardest things about the first year of Virginia’s life was the lack of anger other people had about what had happened to her. There were common catch phrases that I heard frequently. Saturday, July 24, 2010. We've been busy with lots of pool time this summer. Mae has been taking swim lessons once a week since early June. She loves swimming but hasn't taken too well to the "pressure" of the structured class.it's safe to say she's "bringing up the rear" in class right now. :) She's does great with us though! Here's a video Jason took of us the other day at the pool. I just got the new iPhone and love the video feature! Hope to be posting more and more videos on here on the future!

Monday, August 8, 2011. It's been non-stop action around here these days. Mae is loving Julia, her captive audience, and Julia seems amused by her antics. Julia is getting bigger and smiling and laughing more and more. She weighed in at 15 lbs 6 oz at 4 months. 90th percentile. She's 24 1/4 inches long. 50th percentile. So we're doing pretty well on that front! She also started sleeping from 8-7 with a 10:30 feed before I head to bed. Life's much more manageable with this sleep schedule! Oh, we've also p...

Saturday, March 26, 2011. Julia Lee Dallas arrived Tuesday, March 22nd weighing 8 lbs 3 oz. She has been unbelievably sweet and so easy this far! She sleeps pretty much all the time so I know it won't be this calm for long. We're so glad she's here and are having a great time together! Mae is doing well too and tries to give her raisins and juice and wants to hold her bottle to feed her. She sings to her and pats her saying "it's otay" whenever she cries. Hopefully that will last.
