We get on well with our Brother Club from Hervey Bay so it was time to travel to a mid point and meet them for a Barbie. We went to the park on the esplanade at Woodgate. We only had 6 members attend and were well and truly outnumbered by HBARC. Thanks to Keith VK4KDS and Judy for the photos. VK4ION and VK4FCCW enjoying the sunshine.

I ran across an article in the October 2012 issue of QST describing a modern 2 meter linear amplifier that developed over 1000 watts with a single LDMOS transistor. Wow! I found myself reading and re-reading that article over and over again as it became obvious to me that I had to have one!

And while I've always been interested in cars (and worked on 'em as best I could), the Corvette bug bit me hard! It all started with my wife! When she was a teen, she owned a 1962 Fawn Beige (gold) convertable Corvette. She always regretted selling it and she would speak about it every now and again. Nothing like combining the two!
