Friday, December 14, 2007. Bad weather has little effect on construction. The recent bad weather has not slowed things down at the 80 Scott Avenue site, according to Ed Goodwill, clerk of the works. Demolition of the old wing is now completed, as is the block for the stair tower that leads to the second floor of the gym. The following pictures were taken the week of 12/10-14. Friday, February 22, 2008. Walls continue to go up. Studs and sheeting continue to go up around the building. Weather has slowed things down a bit but the project is still on schedule. Steel to be delivered soon to tie the existing building into the addition. Schodack Central School District. Tuesday, February 12, 2008. Stair tower completed, masons work on columms. Friday, August 31, 2007. CO issued - final touches are being made at CES Village. The certificate of occupancy for CES Village was issued on Thursday, Aug. 30. This means teachers can now access their classrooms to begin getting them ready for the first day of school and office staff and get their computers up and running. The inside of CES Village is something to see – it looks in every way to be a “regular” school. Classrooms are big and bright - hallways are, too. Playground waiting for fun and games.

Tuesday, June 10, 2008. Sheet rock, taping, drainage, heating and electrical work continue. Despite the heat, workers at the CES. Construction site continued to sheet rock, tape, dig drainage areas and more. Drainage work continued on the Ransom Avenue side of the addition. Taping has just finished on the second floor and sheet rocking is underway on the first. Heating units are going in both in the existing building and the addition. Schodack Central School District. Wednesday, November 28, 2007. Construction continues on time. While the area around the gym is soaked and muddy, the stair tower is being prepared and block walls should be going up shortly. The final areas that contain asbestos are being cleared with Friday, Nov. 5, the estimated date for completion. Once this is done, the last of the demolition will be completed, with an estimated completion date around Friday, Dec. 7. The footings and piers will be placed as soon as the area is prepared. Friday, May 9, 2008. Drainage problems being addresssed. Decades-old drainage problems that have plagued residents on Ransom Avenue are being addressed this week. Runoff from Castleton Elementary School property will not be collected in new catch basins all along the east side of the road. Runoff from the school roofs and parking lot will be held in an underground retention system to slow down the flow of water before it goes into the public sewer system. Here are some photos. Friday, January 18, 2008. The steel is coming. Steel will will be arriving on Monday, Jan. 21 and the activity on the site will pick up as it goes into place. A " pre. Thursday, July 26, 2007. Modulars in place, interior work to begin. Were finished being placed on Tuesday afternoon, July 24. In spite of the weather, all the modulars. Have been placed and work crews are sealing up the roof joints and finishing the block firewalls. The firewalls, required by state education department, are rated for "two hours," meaning the fire will not burn through the wall for at least two hours. The next step includes doing all the interior finish. Work to transform the modulars.
