Andy in America: June 2007
http://smellyirishman.blogspot.com/2007_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 26, 2007. Out of the ordinary. Saturday was spent back in Coney Island for the mermaid parade. I thought I had missed the parade since it occurs on the first Saturday of the summer, but apparently the summer doesn't start at the start of June like I was told? Dar be scurvy pirates all along these here parades; yar. In keeping with PG13. Costume made from discarded metro cards. Very impressive; wouldn't you agree Sinead? That's what kids are for. We proclaimed, suicidally. After another walk...

Andy in America: November 2010
http://smellyirishman.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 25, 2010. What a difference a day makes. If I had been writing this blog on Tuesday instead of Thursday you'd be getting a much different show! Fortunately there has been some more signs of promise today and yesterday so I'm happy as I sit down and write this! The last week has consisted of a lot of sitting in the room for the day, refreshing craigslist and job sites looking for any new postings. She just refused to sit nice and still for a decent picture. Boards on the walls detailing...

Malin to Mizen 2007: May 2008
http://m2m007.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html
Malin to Mizen 2007. An expedition from Malin Head to Mizen Head in Ireland, by cycling, walking and kayaking. Tuesday 13 May 2008. 12th August 2007. Day sixteen. I packed my equipment on the bike and headed off, leaving the charming, hospitable and comfortable Agherton Lodge B&B, with it's winding driveway and elegant horses. I told myself I'd come back someday. The house in the backround has no connection to this trip! I turned left in Millstreet and headed south between the Derrynasaggart and Boggerag...

Malin to Mizen 2007. An expedition from Malin Head to Mizen Head in Ireland, by cycling, walking and kayaking. Thursday 19 June 2008. 13th August 2007. Day seventeen. To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield. Alfred Tennyson, "Ulysses". I got up and had a big breakfast - my usual feast of a big fry! I was very very close. I took the small road to Mizen and cycled on excitedly. I was in terrific form. It didn't matter that I had spent the previous sixteen days pushing my body each and every d...The r...

Paris to Rome 1995. Friday, 1 September 1995. Gallia est omnis divisa in partes tres. Date 01- Sept 1995. Ave speed (kph) 18.1. Max speed (kph) 56.6. Max Height (m) 440. Today climb (m) 1045. Was up and about before the hotel staff this morning but the wait was worth it for the breakfast - the sort of breakfast I had expected in France - a great big cup of milky coffee and lots of fresh bread. I could have stayed in this town all day but there was a long way to go so I set off again. At. Then I rolled in...

Andy in America: May 2007

Wednesday, May 30, 2007. A weekend to remember. Management would like to sincerely apologise for the disruption to your regularly scheduled blog but we are now back in operation and urge you to sit back, get comfortable and read. I'll cut to the chase since you're such an impatient bunch! It was painful to sit there, hot, hot, hot. The sight of so much water was torturous, it was very, very tempting. A very cool building beside the White House. Canal beside our hotel in Georgetown. Jefferson was a big guy.
