The shorter one is just over 5km long. It goes past Harpa concert hall, the catholic church, Reykjavik cathedral, City Hall, Althingi, Frikirkjan church, Hallgrimskirkja and the Solfar sculpture. Alongside all streets there are walking paths that can be used for running. The seaside paths on each side are never too far away, and offer many different variations. In the middle of town Tjörnin and Hljómskálagarður are good options for traffic-free runs. The paths along around the airport are also very popular for runners and cyclists.

The Blue Lagoon 10km. Reykjavik Centre 3 and 8km. Kopavogur 5 and 12km. Race Reviews and Stories. The “Powerade Circle” is a 10km route that goes around 2 valleys, Elliðaárdalur and Víðidalur. The Elliðaá river runs through it. The best way to start is by the underpass near Fossvogur, which is easy to get to running or on a bicycle. Some people claim it is sometimes windy there but not us! The running club in Seltjarnarnes hosts a 7.5 and 15km race in may every year. The routes here are used in that race.
