Dave Donaldson’s Blog. Joe Wirtley’s Blog. Mike Krisher’s Blog. Archive for June, 2008. My own ‘Worse Than Failures’. On June 30, 2008. I read a lot of blogs. This post is to honor one of my favorite blogs The Daily WTF(Worse than failure). Me(Explaining NHibernate): When you have a new DB column you just 1) add the column, 2) edit the XML file and 3) change the entity. Developer X: Thats ridiculous. You should have your data access all in stored procedures. Developer X: Yeah, that sounds about right.

LUCAS IS DAS BLOGGIN'. Object reference not set to an instance of a diggity. Larr; Codemash 2012, Is there anything else like it? LINQ Order By Fun. I came across something at work the other day that I found interesting, and since I am never afraid to admit that I don’t know something, I thought I would post it. Other than the fact that I used anonymous types to create the sample objects as opposed to writing classes, the code explains itself:. Sort the list descending by quantity. The thing to note her...

LUCAS IS DAS BLOGGIN'. Object reference not set to an instance of a diggity. Codemash 2012, Is there anything else like it? I bet there is not. If there is, I want to see it. Seriously, Codemash is a down-home/local conference that isn't down-home or local and one that brings the likes of Scott Hanselman (@shanselman), and other. You walk out of this conference thinking that what was once just twitter handles are now actual friends. If you want to read about how I spent my time at this event. I just ca...

If there is one thing that I have learned in my life, it is that you never learn anything by surrounding yourself with people who agree with you. Putting yourself in a giant echo chamber. Dave Donaldson’s Blog. Joe Wirtley’s Blog. Mike Krisher’s Blog. Archive for September, 2008. Case of the Mondays. On September 19, 2008. We, as well as most of Cincinnati, were plunged into darkness Sunday when remnants of Hurricane Ike blew through. On Monday power was still out at home. Carrie Julia and I decided to head out to Old Spaghetti Factory. On the way back we managed to get within 2 lights of our house uneventfully. Everyone treated it that way. 8221;, and my wife screamed that we had a baby&...

Dave Donaldson’s Blog. Joe Wirtley’s Blog. Mike Krisher’s Blog. Archive for February, 2009. On February 26, 2009. I’ve always been a big fan of peer reviews. I enjoy both giving them and receiving them. However, I find there is generally a developer resistance to them. Which is unfortunate. I hate reposting what someone else has already written, but I think Jeff Atwood really hit this right on the nose: Who’s Your Coding Buddy? On February 23, 2009. Some expression that evaluates false. Dave Donaldson’s Blog. Joe Wirtley’s Blog. Mike Krisher’s Blog. Archive for October, 2008. On October 20, 2008. I was recently talking to another developer about code coverage and it made me re-think about code coverage. I had asked him what his code coverage was on this project, and he replied it was probably pretty bad, but that coverage didn’t matter. The quality of the tests mattered. His argument was that if you had good tests that is all you need. Posted in .net. Follow up : Case of the Mondays.

FrazzledDad: So Long Heartland
http://frazzleddad.blogspot.com/2015/05/so-long-heartland.html
Bleary-eyed ruminations of a work at home Father. Tuesday, May 05, 2015. Back in the summer of 2001 my family (just three, back then) moved to Beavercreek, Ohio. For those of you who are, like me, math-challenged that’s 14 years. We’d moved here for my wife’s final assignment during her 20 years of service in the USAF. Also along the way I managed to hook up with the amazing Heartland’s amazing developer community. Yes, I know, I wrote amazing twice. It’s that amazing. I was lucky enough to get engaged w...
