Happy Hogmanay – 100 years on. As I have previously mentioned, hidden behind an old cupboard in the Barony St. John’s main hall room was a pile of papers, books and memorabilia which dated back to the early 1900’s (some 1906, 1907, 1909, 1916, 1921, etc.). In amongst this paperwork was a small card about 3″ x 2″. As Paul and Peter (the builders) ripped up the floorboards in what will eventually become the Training Room, Peter found what he originally thought was a large nail. It was covered i. N rust and was found near the stone exterior wall of the room. It measures 8 inches – now that is some size of nail! Barony St. John hall’s a HIT. Our first couple of weeks of opening the Barony St. John up to the public have been a success. We’ve run our Krav Maga (self defence) classes, HIT (High Intensity Training) circuit classes, bootcamp fitness and even free pediatric first aid sessions.
