Are they still alive? Thursday, July 5, 2007. Today we left one of my favorite places so far, the beautiful little town of Maratea. I want to go back someday. The sea was smoother than ever. "It felt like we were cutting through blue jell-o" said Alan. It was actually a little eire at some parts because there weren't many boats around and the land was hardly visible. Are they still alive? Thursday, July 5, 2007. This morning we got up early for a long sail day early to Pompei. The water was rough again so Linds and I tried wearing patches for the motion sickness. They knocked us out but did the trick. We arrived in Porto Terre Del Greco around 4:00 pm. And some guys waved us into a spot that looked too narrow. They moved one boat over to fit us on the end. We were supposed to leave Rome this morning for the next port, but we decided to stay one more day to catch up on stuff like laundry, groceries, trips to the hardware store, etc. The grocery store trip was also quite successful. Are they still alive? Thursday, July 12, 2007. Next stop, Gallipoli. It's about and 8 hour sail from Crotone. The waves were a little rough at first but calmed down towards the afternoon. We crossed the huge bay today at the bottom of the boot. There was a while where we couldn't see land which was good practice for crossing the Ionian Sea in a few days. We had 3 dolphins come again and swim with our boat. Bec dove off the front of the boat. Then we went up to town and walked around a bit.
