wesley bloggs...: American Psycho
http://wesleybloggs.blogspot.com/2009/05/american-psycho.html
You see the movie (not like Rachel does) so you'll watch it with a better understanding of what it meant by "American Psycho." At least as much as I could get out of it. But what the hell do I know? All of the above. 160;Batman (NOT Michael Keaton. No, not Adam West, either! Resulting in a weird movie unlike anything you've probably seen before. Based on a (big surprise) really fucked up book by Bret Easton Ellis. Hard to "fit in." A term often used when discussing psychopaths is their Mask Of Sanity.

wesley bloggs...: The Dark Crystal
http://wesleybloggs.blogspot.com/2009/05/dark-crystal.html
When I was a kid, we had a VHS tape of The Dark Crystal. When my Mom would have a grown-up party, she'd put me and my sister in another room and put the movie on, even though I'm sure she'd never seen it. I remember that the story was way. Over my head but it was one of the most visually stunning movies I'd ever seen. As things go, technology advanced and our VHS collection became as obsolete as the rotary dial phone and my tapes of RoboCop. And The Dark Crysta. Went in the "3 for $1". The most evil-lo...

wesley bloggs...: Army Of Darkness
http://wesleybloggs.blogspot.com/2009/09/army-of-darkness.html
Some time for you, Constant Reader (to borrow a term of endearment from Stephen King). I watched another requested movie, took some notes, and here I am, tippity-typing away. So you can stop emailing me on a daily basis asking "When are you gonna do another one? Or "When are you gonna do mine? Or "Are you ignoring my emails? Or "If you think ignoring my emails means I'll go away, you're wrong, mister! Or "I know where you sleep, fucker." Good Lord, here we go, at gunpoint. Bruce Campbell Is Hilarious.

wesley bloggs...: Across The Universe
http://wesleybloggs.blogspot.com/2009/02/across-universe.html
Like I promised, here's what a good "musically enhanced" movie should be like. I'm just not comfortable with the term "musical" anymore. It's sounds too… I don't know. It just evokes an image of Oliver Twist in my mind, singing "Food, Glorious Food! You dig the Muzak in Hy- Vee. Beatles Enthusiast Wet Dream. T name a single actor in this movie. Probably because not all actors should sing, Pierce Brosnan. This film is loaded with good singers who can act convincingly. Doing his spot-on Bono. Talent, all ...

wesley bloggs...: The Goonies
http://wesleybloggs.blogspot.com/2009/07/goonies.html
There are some films you see growing up that never seem to leave your consciousness. Movies like Ghostbusters. Still make their way onto TV regularly. Admit it, you still quote lines from some of these movies with your friends and thinks it's hilarious to say them over and over. This week, I got a request from Brent (of the Brent Griffin Airplane Company. June 1985. And the 80's are in maximum overdrive for this one. Nostalgic movies from your childhood. The best cast from the 80's ever! And that's just ...

The only connection to the city of Fargo in the whole film is when Jerry Lundegaard travels there to meet with Carl and Gaear. At any poi...

November 2008. Early summah Down Undah. Wolverine; The former Mrs. Tom Cruise (Fact: Nicole Kidman left Tom Cruise because of his wackadoo Scientology. Beliefs and she was tired of never being able to wear high heels anymore. Tom Cruise is like 5' 3", yo! wesley bloggs...: Inception
http://wesleybloggs.blogspot.com/2010/08/inception.html
All of the above. A psychological triathlon. As Cobb and NOT in a Martin Scorcese film! As Ariadne, a bitingly sarcastic pregnant teenage dream architect. As Arthur, the only cast member with Werewolf of London hair. As Mal, pronounced "Mall". So why not just spell it that way? As Saito; Watanabe played a samurai in The Last Samurai. He did not play THE last samurai, however, because that role should obviously be played by Tom Cruise. As Robert Fischer (not affiliated with chess). An old fat guy. Will ke...
