We stayed at an apartment complex for international students that had a gym, a cafeteria and a park to play games in. Kumamoto is just hop away over the the Ariake Sea from Nagasaki Prefecture making it a perfect stop for a short holiday vacation. We couldn’t ride the ropeway because the gases at the summit were too dangerous for visitors, but we could drive up to the ropeway to take in the views of Mt.
