Armstrong, Party of 5. Tuesday, July 19, 2011. So, here's the low down on what's been going on with us:. Breastfeeding. I proclaimed I hated breastfeeding. After two rounds of antibiotics, I'm nursing and no longer a hater. Strep throat. Need I say more? It's almost as if our house is contaminated. Preston had it twice. Bennett had strep once . yes, at five weeks old. Boredom. Kennedy is bored out of her mind. She's the only one who hasn't been sick and she wants OUT OF THIS HOUSE. My Boys and Me.

To say that his big sister and brother are excited would be quite the understatement. We're all so in love with him. Kennedy and Preston can't keep their hands off of him - the hugs, kisses and requests to hold "Baby Brother" are never ending. So, here he is, weighing in at 8 lbs. 12 oz. and perfect in every way. Back in early August, Andrew and I took a shuttle bus into the park and went for a day hike up Sable Mountain. It's about 35-40 miles out the park road, just past Teklanika River and Igloo Canyon. Upon arriving home, we wasted no time at getting out and playing in the backyard. We were able to ride the four-wheeler fairly close to the Savage River. The thinner ice around a beaver pond stopped us. We walked the rest of the way and then spent some time along the river. We have such a beautiful playground so close by! What a beautiful area!

The Granite Tors.rocky outcrops that formed millions of years ago and stick up out of the hills in the Chena River Recreation Area (aka our backdoor). Andrew made a trip up to see these ancient rock pinnacles last weekend while I was working. He ended up spending the night under the stars and the northern lights at around -30! The Alaska Range dominates the background.
