There are openings for graduate as well as undergraduate students to join most of the projects described here! Investigating the sources and transformations of organic matter, in conjunction with measurements of the activities and composition of the microbial communities, along the course of two North Carolina rivers. Is a major project being carried out in collaboration with the Teske and McKee labs in the Department of Marine Sciences. And the consequences of variable sinking speed for carbon cycling.
