Craters of the Moon 2015. Warm Springs, deep in the heart of the Frank Church Wilderness in Idaho. The Warm Springs guard station on Warm Springs Creek . An hour or so on a dirt road out of Challis, Idaho. To The trailhead that is. A 5 mile hike down into the remnants of the Challis Caldera. A recent burn had spared the guard station, but devastated the forest. We teamed up at the trailhead with the packers and they transported quite a bit of tools and supplies for us.
