Mind Over Mayhem: A Date
http://staffordstyle.blogspot.com/2014/07/a-date.html
My purposeful struggle to grow a character worthy of the children. Sunday, July 27, 2014. Aidan wanted to go on a date with Mommy! And I thought that would be great. We settled on IHOP, so we could get some of our favorite breakfast foods. Especially since Papa will never darken the door of an ihop himself. Or a Denny's. Or Applebee's. Or Sweet Tomatoes. So we have to go get our "nasty food" fix when he's not around. =). I just love it when I take the time to focus on their sweet faces. I'm a lucky and i...

Mind Over Mayhem: November 2012

My purposeful struggle to grow a character worthy of the children. Saturday, November 17, 2012. The Mother of Invention. You know, necessity. But in my experience, my personal experience, laziness is the mother of invention. Which is why I find every possible reason to crochet without a pattern. Every time I use a pattern (twice) I have to learn something new. Oh horrors! Pixie hat for Julia:. Kinda hard to crochet with this funky yarn. But it's cute! And so is the model! Circle hat for Aidan:. Snape com...

It's so enlightening and entertaining! What comes after puberty? Lucas shouts out: "Adultery! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). A spider lives inside my head. Who weaves a strange and wondrous web. Of silken threads and silver strings. To catch all sorts of flying things,. Like crumbs of thoughts and bits of smiles. And specks of dried-up tears,.

Mind Over Mayhem: March 2013
http://staffordstyle.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
My purposeful struggle to grow a character worthy of the children. Friday, March 15, 2013. Happy 6th Birthday, Aidan! Aidan opened gifts in the am after his requested breakfast of scones, cheesy eggs and bacon. There was his first Bible, hymn book and bible case. Which led to this later in the afternoon. I already feel good about the purchase! Then we took cupcakes to Explora, but first stopped by to see our friends, the Rudolphs, as they passed through town. So fun! Not that we stuck to the rules exactly.

Mind Over Mayhem: July 2014
http://staffordstyle.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
My purposeful struggle to grow a character worthy of the children. Thursday, July 31, 2014. We are very lucky to have some grandparents who know just what kids love. And the kids get spoiled rotten! Gma June has sent balloons in the past, and they were a huge hit. However, Mom did not refresh the supply. And this year, Lucas got more balloons in his birthday package and the kids went crazy with them. We still have a few limp critters in a box in the bedroom. Lots of little twists and turns! Riding the ti...

Mind Over Mayhem: One of "those" types...
http://staffordstyle.blogspot.com/2014/07/one-of-those-types.html
My purposeful struggle to grow a character worthy of the children. Tuesday, July 29, 2014. One of "those" types. Sometimes it is rather shocking to see ourselves mirrored in our children. Sometimes a quality that seems only mildly bad on myself, I find totally unacceptable in my kids. And so I have to do things like learn and grow in order to improve my example. And then every once in awhile, you see some quality in your kids that reminds you of yourself and what a relief! It isn't a bad thing! I'm a luc...
