This example is a starting point for projection that uses a 3D scene. It uses a projection mapping to create the CG archetype flying-thorugh-space effect. Uses GLM. To create MVP matrices. The motion too fast for most spaces, the visual depth adds little to the experience. Use of scene depth in projections needs more experimentation, or perhaps 3D is redundant for this purpose. This projection effects color distortion using green levels, to which the eye is particularly sensitive. The video is loaded as a texture, colors are sampled and snapped to pink or green in the fragment shader. Is a 3hr video of Rotterdam from the north-west of the Erasmus bridge, looking south-west. This projection quantizes pixels to monochrome values, decided by comparing brightness to a threshold. Used is an unstable scene, the threshold is fixed threshold and the projection relies on the input video for variation. Full-size sample: original.mov. This video-based projection is a branch of the Loop. Rapidly varying pixel values and motion physics constrained by the of holding a camera make video a good base for experimentation. No movement is unaturally fast, and the scenes are complex.

This particle projection uses particles with varying speeds in a downward direction. Particles are distributed horizontally at random. Full-size sample: original.mov. This point-based projection is a branch of the Snow. Increasing the particle count causes particles streams show visual artefacts of compution. Projectionist targets projectors as a medium for digital art. By projecting onto wall or ceiling surfaces without a screen, content can be designed to lift the texture of the room. The focus is mainly black and white. Using white-only illumination avoids overwhelming the spaces existing colors. In combination with additional sensors such as a microphone or light sensor or camera, the scene could be automatically adjusted to the projected space, as defined by the author.
