Snowcatcher: Snowflake Monday
http://www.snowcatcher.net/2013/05/snowflake-monday_20.html
It’s probably no secret I really love my Many Thunders Snowflake. It probably comes as no surprise that I love motifs, particularly when they may be joined as the project is worked. So of course I had to come up with a whole new project to incorporate Many Thunders into something bigger than just a snowflake. This is yet another project that doesn't necessarily require blocking, but blocking makes it look so much better. Blocking really makes a difference. Color Key for 6 Joined Motifs:. Snowcatcher: Merry Monday
http://www.snowcatcher.net/2015/07/merry-monday.html
I have nearly 80 unpublished blog posts, and most of them are Friday Funnies. While trying to set up Friday Funnies in advance for the month of June while I was too busy pedaling to pay tons of attention to my blog, I found a lot of dead Friday Funny links. Perhaps it's time to use up some of those remaining unpublished Friday Funnies before all the links go dead. So, here's to Comedy Week at Snowcatcher! Don't forget to send your mandalas to Kathryn at Crochet Concupiscence. 5 inches from point to point.

Snowcatcher: A Whole New Mug
http://www.snowcatcher.net/2015/08/a-whole-new-mug.html
A Whole New Mug. On the day of our 10th anniversary, The Lizard accidentally broke the mug I designed for him as a wedding gift 10 years ago. So I designed a new one. ImageStation, where the first mug was created, is long gone. So I used Zazzle. The new mug has arrived. I should have made the anniversary phrase lizard-green so it would stand out more against the desert turf, but I love the mug anyway! Best of all, Lizard loves it, too! 11 August, 2015 08:45. 11 August, 2015 17:06. 16 August, 2015 20:15.

Yes Couldn't resist. We're finally done with winter in my neck of the high plains, and I got to see my first genuine rainbow of the year last week. I'm celebrating what I hope will be at least a four-month absence of snow at our house. But bring on that rain! Make my flowers bloom! You may do whatever you'd like with snowflakes you make from this pattern, but you may not sell or republish the pattern. Thanks, and enjoy! 45 inches from point to point. Color Key for Stripes:. Snowcatcher: Snowflake Monday

Earlier this year, one of my co-workers bought yarn for a baby afghan she'd made in the past, but then couldn't find her pattern. She asked if I could find the 20-year-old instructions somewhere. With time running out before the birth of the baby my friend wanted to work up the afghan for, I offered to graph the wiggles for her. She said she knew how to do the lattice foundation, and she remembered how to do the wiggle stitch. She just needed "a map.". She bought graph paper for me the very next day!

I've wanted to make a mandala snowflake for several years now, and last week I finally had a slap upside the head to get it done. I've used the basic 12-round mandala pattern located here. If you haven't heard Wink's story, you may read about her here. After making the mandala, I worked up today's snowflake and appliqued it to the mandala. I tried to make this snowflake lacey and subdued to allow the mandala to show through. I'll be submitting my Wink and a Prayer Snowflake Mandala to #MandalasForMarinke.

Snowcatcher: Starflake Monday
http://www.snowcatcher.net/2011/11/starflake-monday.html
I had been planning to do another star for Veteran's Day when I received a request from Nanci Lawson. She asked if I might be able to pattern an ornament after a specific stained glass star, and her star just happens to be red, white and blue. It would be difficult to top last year's Veteran's Day starflake story. So I won't even try. I have a strong patriotic streak, perhaps inspired by growing up near a military base. F-15s were always in the sky, and they were called the Proud Eagles. You may do whate...

Sometimes He Lets It Rain" by Katherine Nelson. Kathryn at Crochet Concupiscence has extended the deadline for #MandalasForMarinke! The new deadline is October 15, 2015, and more exciting news is available here. I've been asked to share/write the pattern for the rainbow mandala I featured on a recent Snowflake Monday. I've been drawn to mandalas since I was a child. Some of my snowflakes could be classified as mandalas. (Think A Snowflake for Shonna. My ever-popular Lollipop Snowflake. Or Rain Dance II.
