Ginnie Cappaert: June 2009
http://blog.gcappaert.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
A little time for me. Monday, June 22, 2009. Now that the kids are home from school and summer is in high gear, I decided to take a workshop "just for me". Yesterday I went to Marquette to this great bead store "Bella Beads" and took a workshop presented by Beth Millner(.com) on silversmithing. I've always had a love of silver and copper jewelry and wanted to learn how to pound, manipulate and distress it. I loved it! Posted by Ginnie Cappaert @ 1:16 PM 1 Comments. Return - exhausted but inspired. Happin...

http://blog.gcappaert.com/2015/02/the-joy-of-life-comes-from-our.html
Tuesday, February 3, 2015. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun." - unknown. Oh, to have the joy of the sun! Things that inspire me:. A quiet walk, hike or horse ride. A new tube of paint. As I said before, the SUN. A messy, yes messy studio. My children and pets and all those beings in my life adventure! Posted by Ginnie Cappaert @ 1:45 PM. An exciting day...

Ginnie Cappaert: December 2008
http://blog.gcappaert.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, December 17, 2008. Gratitude is the word of the day. As I think about how lucky I am to be able to do my artwork every day, I realize what a wonderful world this really is. Another artist suggested that we all start a list of all the things "we accomplished" this year - WOW - when you do this you realize some wonderful things happened this year - try it! This should get us all through the holidays, when we all seem too busy and feel we will "never get everything done"! Sunday, December 7, 2008.

Tuesday, April 28, 2015. These are the days that must happen to you." - Walt Whitman. These are the days.these are the small parts.the particles that form together to 'make the big picture'. All of these 'parts' become one.one life, one adventure, one moment and they all connect with each other to form the whole. This is what I have dreamed about and worked so hard for.it is here! So excited to officially open CAPPAERT CONTEMPORARY GALLERY on May 7! So as I put final touches on getting the new space read...

Thursday, January 1, 2015. I was reminded.how good change is for us. How it picks us up by the ankles and shakes us just a little to let us know we are indeed ALIVE." - Dreama Tolle Perry. With gratitude to each of you that make a big difference in my life! We need to remember that we grow from change, just like the earth changes through its seasons bringing joyful seasonal patterns that we love, or at least make the best of! I don't really make New Years resolutions, per se, but I do like to reflect on ...

Monday, January 12, 2015. Being an artist is like breathing. It's this incredible urge to create, that you can't question. Like breathing you just have to do it, or else you will die." - Marina Abramovic. Painting chooses us, we don't choose it.I think I heard that one somewhere too, but in all reality, when we are dedicated to our art practice and career, we find nothing more fulfilling than to actually be in the studio working. Ginnie Cappaert: April 2009
http://blog.gcappaert.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, April 26, 2009. The painting has a life of its own. I try to let it come through" Jackson Pollock. I find this so true as I stare at a blank canvas, preparing myself for what will happen. I usually go into each painting without a pre-conceived idea and let what happens "just happen". Usually I am amazed at the outcome - not always - but most of the time. I just keep working in layers and more layers and the whole process of thoughts and feelings evolve into something magical. 3 List 20 - or 50 or...

Saturday, December 13, 2014. Sometimes on the way to a dream, you get lost and find a better one" - unknown, but I like it! Life takes us in different directions sometimes. Even though I didn't always know my direction, everyone keeps telling me that this is where you are meant to be going, it's in the stars. Now I know that. While in Ireland, I absorbed the textures and colors of the beautiful countryside. This photo reflects a beautiful beach filled with stones, fossils and the beauty of nature! An exc...
