Art and Soul and Autism. Wednesday, March 21, 2012. Hope Academy of the Arts. Ok, Hope Academy needs to have its own page on my blog. Five years ago, my son with autism needed more social interaction with peers. His ABA therapist talked of social skills groups, and when I checked them out I found groups of high functioning autistic children burping together. Ok. Not what I wanted! So I gave him a choice: aikido classes with his peers or Hope Academy's Musical Theater program along with its required choir.
